He was very underappreciated, and underrated in his time here. If he hadn't had some of those injuries I really think he'd have gotten the respect he deserved.
Pat was always one of my fav Phils! It's too bad he never reached his full potential. I heard some crazy stories about him off of the field. When I have some time I'll post a few. Season is creeping up on us very soon boys!
I went to the game in 2009 when they got their WS rings and it was awesome to see that he was there for it. He was with the Rays at the time...he def got the biggest ovation and a lot of fans were emotional
You have to give the guy credit. He parlayed his talent into a pretty good run with the Phillies, 2 World Series rings ( ignore his BA and Ks ) and about $70M in earnings. Burrell, Rollins and Bowa all came to the Phillies roughly at the same time and I don't think it was coincidental that fortunes of the Phillies turned for the better. The fact he got a huge ovation from Phillie fans was a nice display of loyalty.
His Irish Pub Antics are that of Hollywood Movie Lure.. It is said he was toased from Black Sheep after Having Relations w a On Duty Waitress and Those in bathroom at time are said to have overheard him say U are so Lucky, cauae ur Bangin Pat Effin Burrell, Lol.. Utley was his side kick for 2 seasons, then married hia GF, those Guys were on par w Lindross, Brownie as far as partying out in the City Venues.. Anyone remember the Platinum Doo Pat Sported ? Lol
