It’s funny how one of the main reasons we’re going to lose this game is that Bill Belichick is a genius and given time to prepare he can come up with a plan to beat anybody. Now I’ll give him his do, the Rams SB, a plan for us to beat the Bills. But this is a what have you done for me lately league and I don’t see it. He lost to the heavy underdog Giants got killed by the Ravens 2 years ago and lost to the Jets last year. If you look at this year he beat Denver, big deal and if that Ravens guy holds onto the ball he loses to them. Now we shouldn’t underestimate him, but if he’s a genius then how about the coaches of those teams that beat him. Now he and Brady can change things by winning this game, but those SB victories were quite a while ago and if they lose this one so much for their genius coach and unbeatable QB. Go Giants!!!

Imagine that had Parcells retired earlier the year he stepped dowm from the Giants The Hoodie probabally would have been the Giants head coach to replace him instead of going to Cleveland.

Revenge Game? Whatever! History could've been made back in 2007 but the Patriots LOST and now they are talking about revenge. Get real. Belichick and Brady had their moments, now it's time for Coughlin and Eli to have theirs.

Adam Schefter: Patriots, 27-16

The Giants are the better and more complete team. But they also have to figure out a way to beat Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the memory of Myra Kraft.

Because that’s impossible to do. He even says we are the better team, but we’re going to lose by 11? See what I mean, this love affair they have with these 2 guys is unbelievable. I think this game looks more like how can the Pats. Figure out Tom and Eli because they are actually the team that has been winning these games. Go Giants!!!

I love that people are like, what have you done for me lately.  Averaging a superbowl every 2 years over the last 10 years is ridiculous.  This league is full of smart and talented people and no one has even been able to come close to that.  Not even the Steelers, where the chasm is a wide gap.  Yes he lost, and yes he loses some games.  No one is perfect and is going to win them all.  The teams that lost were very beat up.  Depleted defense, depleted offense.  Tom Brady with crakced ribs and broken fingers.  Part of this game is getting lucky with the injuries and making sure that your team peaks at the right time. ie. good players are healthy by the end of season, etc.

THe 07 Pats were stacked and the Giants outplayed them.  I think they walked into that game too arrogant, like the Packers walked into the Divisional round.  Rodgers looked like half the QB he normally is, and it wasn't due to pressure.  He just had a very off game.  He overthrew receievers he normally would not have, his recievers had drops they normally wouldn't have.  But that's football, if you have an off game you generally lose and go home.

Look at the Giants, with their injuries, played mediocre during the regular season and now that the injured players are getting healthy, have played well down the stretch,  You only have so much to work with and the reason people call BB a genius is because of his pretty much constant sucecss in overcoming injuries, out gameplanning very talented teams on a consistent basis and having his team in the thick of things at the end of the year every year with at least a chance to go to the big game.  So much depends on which way the ball bounces in this game, no one can take a team to the promised land every year.  But he's come close, every other year on average.

Good luck to both sides, personally I think the Giants are going to be outschemed, there's only been one time that I can remember BB lost to a team in the regular season and didn't come back to destroy them in the post season and that was the Denver Broncos coached under Shanahan.  For some reason Shanahan has always been able to give the Patriots fits.  They were the one team I always hated playing because BB could never get past them.  And we saw it when the Redskins gave the Patriots fits this year.

As a Patriots fan I can't argue with the success the team has had.  I believe BB will pull something out of his ass and win the game.  But that's just my homer pick.  Pats 34 Giants 27.  Good luck guys!

Belicheat?  Thought he was more known for cheating and getting fined 1/2 million dollars for it.  Got caught red-handed, disgracing the NFL.  The guy is a putz and his owner is a double putz for keeping him around.

You know, I've heard all the rationalizations from the Patriots fans.

The cheating had no effect on the outcome of games, much less on their 3 SB wins.
They still had to execute the plays.
The video-taping wasn't illegal in itself, only the location from which it was being carried out.

And so on.

The fact is that during the time Belichick was cheating, his team was winning.  Also during that time, all in-game decisions by Belichick were regarded as works of genius.  Whatever he did came out smelling like a rose.  Anyone who doubted that he was truly a football mastermind was insane.  Post-season record 12-2.  And the best one -- Belichick NEVER loses to a team the second time he plays them in the same season.

Contrast that to the Belichick post-cheating years.  Two Super Bowl losses.  Questions abound concerning his decisions, both as coach and general manager.  Post-season record 4-4.  Losing to teams twice in a season are becoming more and more common.

There should be little doubt that Belichick has managed to put together some pretty good teams during his time in New England.  But were they really as good as most so-called experts would have them?  In my opinion, no.  But that's not what my real problem is with this team and this coach (not to mention the actions of Goodell).  My problem is that the question will always linger as to what would have been the result if Belichick had not cheated.  Would they have won 3 Super Bowls, or even have been in that many?  These are questions that will not and cannot be answered.  And yesterday's game just seems to be more evidence of what advantage his cheating may have had.

I hate to play devil’s advocate.  I hate Bill Belichick as much as the next guy.  But, you cannot ignore that the guy’s accomplished.  If you count the seasons he was an assistant coach, he’s been to 7 Superbowls.  He’s won 5 of them; 3 as a head coach; 2 as Parcells’ Defensive Coordinator.  You don’t have to like the guy, but you can’t take away what the guy’s accomplished.  What he did with the Patriots this season was impressive.  I honestly didn’t think they were that good of a team; yet he took a banged up team with the worst defense in the league and got them to the Superbowl.

The guy is a great coach; like him or not, and a future hall of famer for certain.

I said in my post that he has put together some good teams during his time.  I never said he was a BAD coach, or even mediocre.  My point is that he is a known cheater.  No rational person denies this.  Because of that, there will always be questions concerning how much the cheating played in getting him over the top and how much of it was his coaching expertise.  The dichotomy between the two eras (cheating and post-cheating) paints a definite picture that cannot be overlooked.

Also, let's not forget that there have been many coaches and players who were passed over for hall of fame nominations because of "questionable activities."  I, for one, believe that his cheating should absolutely be taken into consideration when he becomes eligible.
