Von Miller DROY.....

I thought maybe Smith may pass him but Von got 39 out of 50 votes. Sweet.....

Miller received 39 votes out of 50. Smith, also a first-round choice, got the other 11.

That is great news.  I was afraid Smith was going to get DROY.  I might be biased but I think Von Miller's body of work outshines Smith's.  (I do realize Smith got more sacks.)

I would be very happy to have Von Miller become the "face" of the franchise.  Great pick and an incredible young man to represent our team going forward.  Congratulations Von Miller and here's to an incredible sophmore season!

Agreed!!  I think he had a great year, imagine what he's going to do with more talent around him!!!  I also wonder what kind of impact he would of had the last four games had he not got hurt?

ESPN had a great story about that on their pre-game show. He uses his hands (it's how he got hurt) to set up all of his pass rushes. He was relegated to the, speed around the corner rush every time. He will be much better next year......

When was the last time the Broncos had a player at least running for D-ROY? D.J. Williams in 2004? Anyways, Von Miller is an awesome first pick by John Elway and I hope he makes it 2 for 2 in this years draft.

I was talking bout this with my buddy.  Sure Aldon Smith had more sacks than Von Miller (I think he had 14 and Miller had 11.5) but I think it was what he did for our defense this year more than his sacks.  Sure sacks our important but look at what Miller had to work with and who was on his team compared to Smith.  So the impact he made and his environment I believe really helped him lock in the DROY

Smith was a situational pass-rusher, on a great defense - Miller played a much higher percentage of snaps. That's probably the difference...

I think Miller playing with that cast on his hand might have swayed a few votes in his direction.  Hell of a job Von!  This kid is going to be a beast for us for years to come.  Him and Doom is a combination that will terrorize opposing QB's!  Towards the end of the year Ayers finally started to look like he actually belonged on that field.
