Alright, here's where the rubber meets the road...
Just heard Digger Phelps say KU is 16-57 from 3 over (28%) the last 3 games; that's flat out pitiful. TRob, Withey and company are gonna have to get it done in the paint for them to have any chance on the road. Bonus would be for EJ and Teahan to find some sort of a stroke from range.
A lot of MU fans are touting the speed of the MU guards....last I checked TT and EJ were pretty quick on their feet to. Not sure there's a real quickness advantage by either team. Should be some great matchups. Again, it's gonna come down to Withy, TRob and co. to control the paint, both defensively and offensively. Ratcliffe leads the nation in FG % but every shot he makes is like 2 feet or closer; hopefully Withey and TRob can make that a little more difficult WITHOUT getting in foul trouble.
I hate to complain about this start at all because so far so good but with Withey being guarded by English he got no touches on the offensive end. Now part of it was his fault as he let English front him and instead of making himself availabe for the lob pass he just tried to body with Kim... silly Jeff.
Is it just me or does every long three as the shot clock expires go in against us?
Pretty sure I'd rather watch Wesley or Young foul out in 10 minutes of play than watch Teahan get 15+ minutes....dude needs to put the warm ups on and call it a night.
Teahan has been in the game for about 5 possessiona and in that time he has been blown by 3 times, turned it over on a fast break, been outrebounded by a smaller player and turned down an open three pointer.
I will say this, to me it feels like we are getting outplayed... or at least out worked and yet we are up a point.
Seems like Wesley has the ability to jump out of the gym....playing against an undersize MU team, this would be a great night for him to have a nice game.
