Is Eli an Elite qb and/or A Hall of Famer?

February 4, 2012 9:34 pm

Without homerism ask yourself if he wins tomorrow, would he now be considered an Elite QB and a Hall of Famer.  For those of you who see Ben as one, then Eli should follow.  For those Dan Marino supporters, Eli should also be where you see Dan.

He knocks out the Pats twice (if they win)...the 18/1 potentially historical Pats but Eli and teh Giants made front page and took the wind out of the Pats sails.  The Hall of Fame is about stories and he sure is starting to make a name for himself to be there.

I can't stand the Gainst bc of what they have done to us recently and now they are becoming my most hated.  It was the Eagles but not anymore...not after the 5 min come back.  Did you guys hear the mombo song when Cruz scored?  That was crazy for the network to do.  I thought that deserved a legal whoopin by Jerry but I guess sound effects that favor a team is allowed.

I am not allowed to say Elisha (even though that's his real name) as a joke bc he made a joke of this defense many of times.

Question posted so hit me.

Not sure what you mean by donate to a great cause but I didn't realize Eli Manning's full name was Elisha.  Elisha isn't a girls name nor is it a wimpy name.

He was a prophet of God in 2 Kings.

I believe the Giants win, 34-20, Eli(sha) and Coughlin go to the Hall of Fame, while Belichek goes to the Hall of Shame, not able to win a Super Bowl post-Spygate era.

And Tom Brady becomes only as good as Troy Aikman with 3 Super Bowls.

Sooooo, there's the full circle.  Eli gets one more than his brother, Peyton.  Coughlin gets the Hall while threatened to be fired for the last 8 years.  Bill can't live up to expectations met in the early to mid-2000s (due to "Spygate") and Tom falls short of his hero Joe Montana.  He can't get any more Super victories than a Troy Aikman whom has 3, as well.

Look, for all the grief the Giants get and have gotten, you still have to "feel good" they are representing the NFC East given all their junk they've had to face over this past year.  And Coughlin, as well.

I'm pulling for the Giants.

When the Giants tore Green Bay up in the divisional playoff game, I knew they were going to not only go back to the Super Bowl but they were going to win it.

Giants are just as tough, if not tougher on defense this time around as the last time they met.

C'mon, Cowboys fans...Keep it in the NFC East....for one game...."Go Giants"...

Keeping it football this time....Giants beat a good 49 defense on their home field.  Don't put blame on the returner for San Francisco because his first "fumble" was the touch of the knee and that was won on a challenge.  Had NY not challenged it, it could have been a different story, sure.

San Fran had the #4 Defense, New England is 30th.

Coughlin tied Tom Landry two weeks ago with his seventh playoff road victory.

The front four of NY is quickly becoming known as the "four horseman" of the new millendium....lol

Rowdy, Great explanation of the name Elisha!

The Giants should beat the Pats tonight. Yes, Eli will be elite and a HoF just like his brother!

I agree that if you say that Ben R is elite then you should say that Eli is elite, but comparing them to Dan Marino is absurd.....Marino was the superior QB by far.

I just mention Dan bc of his no show in the Super Bo.  It seems that arguments about this player or that revolves around if a QB has seen a SB appearance or not.  The argument then would be if Dilfer deserves the HOF or Elite, which he does not, but just saying bc so many people use SB as the guiding stick for elite or not.

Goofy looking dude, but called himself Elite at the beginning of season and backed it up.  Have to give credit where due, as much as it pains me to say it.

Unfortunately, Eli is elite. As for us, we're the laughing stock and will be for decades. I can't stomach this anymore. I am literally in tears.

Step back from the egde dude.  We were a play away from the playoffs.  Lots of room for improvement, especially on defense, but hardly a laughing stock.

The world would have changed if our D could have stopped Eli in the first match-up.  5 min. was the world of difference...5.

Who ever told Garrett to call a time out should be kicked in the teeth. (Arizona)

Goes to show that it dosent take a rah-rah QB to lead a team like I believed bc that goofy Eli sure is the anti to the Rah.

Again, that pass to Manny was perfection.

Props to Elisha Manning.

you guys are no laughing stock!!!

Giants fans may despise your team, but we know your still the Dallas Cowboys!!

Your, our division rival, and it shows with the 4 teams in our division we are the best division still, cause these 4 teams  have to play each other twice a yr so it makes it harder for us to knock each other out   ,so we really have to rely on knocking other teams out to win our division.

But remember Cowboy fans, its not how maney games you win in the season, its getting into the play offs that count, and when any nfc east team gets in there, other teams better be afraid.

I am so proud we represented our divison and won, cause peeps were starting to call this division weak, its not that we are weak its that our division is so hard it makes it easier for those teams that dont have hard rival divisions to make the play offs.

The NFC east beats each other up so bad during the season, that by the time the playoffs are near we have nothing left, cause of injuries and other things.

Good luck next yr,and ill still be hating you guys, but hey at least its a real hate and a respected hate to a rival.

Like and respect you CowboyBuck, but take off your blinders. One playoff win in 16 years under JJ's full control... THAT'S a laughing stock. @#$% even the Ravens are better than us.

I understand what you guys are going through cause ive been there and had to hear it all the time with our team, but your still an nfc east rival so i never sleep easy and say its going to be an easy win against the Cowboys, this yr it could have been you guys as easily as us.

But this is a game of inches, and any small mistake could bite you later, and thats what happened to your team.

Fine, but here's the difference. We've been hearing it over and over again for 16 FUCK****ING years with NO END IN SIGHT. Even the traitor Chris Canty gave the Cowboys a bad name, and HE'S A FORMER COWBOY.

That right there shows just how inept JJ and the Cowboys are today.

Pac,

All I'm saying is your tune would be totally different if we had made it to the playoffs...and we didn't miss by much, regardless of how ugly we looked.  That by definition is not a laughing stock.

Regardless, Eli proved he deserves to be called elite and the Giants are SB champs this year.   There endeth the story for the 2011 season.  Congrats to them, they earned it.

Look at it this way, the Cowboys are tied for the lead in the Division again as of tonight!

Buck, I can more than assure you that I'd end up this way even if we did get in the playoffs instead of the Giants. The Cowboys don't have overall consistency where it really counts. Each game SOMEONE or a GROUP OF PLAYERS AND/OR COACHES screw up bad enough that the whole team can't overcome it AND I'M TIRED OF IT. The entire NFL officiating crew burn in hell for doing whatever it takes to make the Cowboys suck for the rest of eternity.

We're nothing but hot air and it's all thanks to 16 years of JJ running things his way. JJ: the crypt-keeping control freak.

I only read your first post so I have one answer and one request

Request: Please don't put Romo in this catagory because for obvious reasons he's not one of the elite.  You're not elite until you've done it all and Romo hasn't done anything lately let alone done it all.

Answer:  After watching the game I would have to say he's one of the elite QB's in the league along with Brady and his brother.  All three of them have one thing in common, they have the ability to lead their teams from where ever they are in the standings to the Super Bowl and win all three have proven that ability by winning at least one if not two Super Bowls during their careers now.
