The People's Poll: Week 12 (VOTE HERE!!!!)

February 7, 2012 8:04 pm

UNI however is a very good team. No. Iowa should be on the bubble, and as they move up in the conference standings, they will be. No. Iowa has a good computer profile, with an RPI in the top 50, actually in the 30's the last I looked, so, they have been bogged down a little in conference play, like Memphis.

Hey, I'm pray to the saint of lost causes and earning national respect for a mid-major just ain't happening in this case.  They will sink like a rock in the polls.  You and I know UNI at home is formidable and that Creighton took them down to the wire.  That's not what voters will see.  They will see a team who doesn't play in a "real conference" losing to decent competition.

Creighton is really going to fall off the map now. They lost tonight to a 12-12 Evansville team; I was a Creighton believer, I don't think I am any more.

The People's Poll: Week 12 (VOTE HERE!!!!)

Creighton IS a really good team at this time and as a hard core SHOCKER fan, I much prefer to be 'haten' on creighton'. However, they may have peaked too early. My Shox seem to be continuing to improve; this Saturday's game between the two will answer a few questions about both teams. UNI beats Creighton by 3 and tonight Wichita State tattoos UNI by 25, 2 weeks ago WSU played E-ville for the 2nd time and won by 12, then 3 days later WSU goes to triple overtime and loses to the 5/6 place team!!
The reality is that the MVC is a good conference, always in the top 1/3 of all 33 conferences. As such the Valley get's good players. Maybe not the Star recruits like some other conferences but generally good to better players who stick around for 4 years, take real classes and get real degrees. Consequently, a lot of the teams in this conference do not play their best ball until the 2nd half of the season.  I wouldn't count Creighton out just yet, even if they lose this Saturday against WSU. Provided that Creighton makes it to the Dance, they will win a couple of games. If the wheels fall off the Jays wagon, well........you can't spell Creighton without N I T !!
