A sit down with bo

Blackshirts, I understand what you are saying and I like the fact that you show patience and a willingness to let a coach do his thing.  I am very similiar in that aspect.

With that being said, you do have to draw the line somewhere don't you?  So the question is where is that line?  EVERYONE remembers the awful awful awful last year of Callahan, but what isn't often mentioned is that the year before that we were in the Big12 Championship game and should have beaten Auburn in the Cotton Bowl.  So...what happens if BO has a bigtime off year in 2012??  Do we show him the door like Callahan or give him a pass just because "we like him"??

Personally as I've stated above on this thread I think 2 more years of the same (i.e- 4 losses with a couple being nasty blowouts), no championships to speak of, and his seat will become quite hot and I think rightfully so.  No, we'll probably never see the dominance we displayed in the 90's but we're also not here to be a mid-tier program and let everyone else win championships.  I think 6 years is plenty enough time to show us something.

Right now, I think Bo's career is resting on 2013.

It also rests on 2012, but after losing Denard/Crick/David, as long as he can get to 9 wins, it's still his job. I'd prefer not to see blow out losses in there and no losses to teams we should definitely beat, but as long as he gets to 9 wins, I think he still has the job into 2013.

But seriously 2013, with the schedule missing Wiscy and Ohio State, if he can't get Big Red to the Big 10 Championship game, his ship has sailed. That's the 3rd year of Beck's offense, should either have a 4th year QB in Martinez or a 2nd year QB in Carnes or someone else (if they can surpass T-mart as the starting QB). Plenty of experience all over the field by then and if can't get to that game, then he just doesn't have the coaching ability and Big Red needs to find someone who can get the most out of the players.

Yikes!!!  If that is the barometer for next year then I'm gonna say his seat is already pretty hot because I think it's a pretty big toss up whether or not he gets to 9 wins next year.

Personally I think as long as 2012 isn't a complete debaucle (see 2007) then he gets a shot to make it right in 2013 with all the reasons you already stated.

Looking at the 2013 year if we don't play in the champ game the heat will be on. Schedule is way to easy wayyyy to easy so he has 2012 to right the ship so that 2013 we fire on all cylinders and get 11 wins. As for 2012 I don't know what to expect OL is an issue defense lost its best players tmart is tmart. 9 wins never has satisfied me it didn't in 98 when the husker world was on suicide watch with those losses. 2013 will be the benchmark IMO are schedule is loaded this year 2013 it won't. The problem we have all have been mention, I love the walk on program but we can't beat the top dogs with him. We need to be able to pass on 3rd n longs, I believe in beck but he doesn't have the right players for his offense. I hope bo gets it done I like his fire but the record shows that we have left a lot wins on the field bc of our mistakes
