Things are really in a sad state right now. If I remember hearing correctly, Sterling Moore is a Bay Area native, and grew up as a fan of the Raiders.

And yet, here all us Raiders fans are (myself included) watching the Super Bowl eagerly marking every single mistake he makes, essentially rooting against one of our own. Why is this? Quite simply because rodmoney drove us all to it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Moore was cut from the Raiders because he was not good enough to move up the depth chart out of the practice squad and onto the regular 53 man roster, not because of some imagined vendetta, prejudice, or hatred that Hue Jackson, Al Davis, or anyone else in the Raiders organization had for him. There is a reason that the only way he could make it onto an NFL roster was as a backup on the worst defense in the NFL. He is not NFL starter material, and he would not have helped the Raiders make the playoffs this season. Eli Manning and the Giants receivers destroyed him today. It is time for rodmoney to come out, man up, and stuff his face with crow.

Will Sterling Moore ever be starter material? I'm sure it wasn't for nothing that Al Davis signed him to the practice squad. I hope the Patriots get vindictive and cut him now so he can come back home to our practice squad until he is ready to contribute (whether that be the start of next season or later). The case is the same with Terrelle Pryor. He has the athletic potential to be a good fotball player. The Raiders are hoping that can be as a quarterback. Right now he is not ready enough to even learn on the fly though.

rodmoney, you need to lay off because all you are succeeding in doing is leading to Raiders fans rooting for people who will bring down those you hold so highly.

Feb. 05, 2012 9:24 p.m. - by Paul Dehner Jr. - DB Moore makes critical plays
DB Sterling Moore, who was unemployed in October and picked up by the Patriots, led the team in passes defensed in the postseason entering the Super Bowl and made the most of his opportunities Sunday. Each of his two defensed passes in the game came on third downs with the Giants in Pats territory.  All Patriots RapidReports | All NFL RapidReports

He also forced a fumble which the Pats recovered only to have a penalty thwart the play. It's sad that a undrafted FA Rookie gives up a catch and haters like you and the others who were praying that somebody caught a pass on him were sweating him so hard to fail. That's why there are people like the one who writes for the Rapid reports who doesn't hate will call it like they see it. He is better than any db we have in our secondary yet I don't recall any of you saying anything about the atrocious play of of every db we have save for Tyvon Branch. Your envy for me has you actually hoping that a guy plays poorly just so you can come on here chasing me down. That is so pathetic that you guys even take the time to come at me with these kind of posts. Sorry guys, I bet that Reggie wishes he was still here. Good game Sterling Moore. Go Raiders.

You are delusional.

Chris Johnson was absolutely brutalized on these boards after the Buffalo game.  Stanford Routt is the guy everyone loves to bash on because of his wildly inconssitent play.  DVD was criticized.  Chimdi Chekwa was criticized.  People talked about Mike Mitchell's liaiblities in coverage.  Matt Gioriano was criticized.  No one was safe (except maybe Michael Huff, I can't remember) this season.

You are delusional if you think Sterling Moore played great today.  He made some good plays, he gave up a few catches.  Not a bad game, not a good game...

That's true Jony, only thin

talk about Moore's play for they are doing it for me. You have to realize that we are talking about an undrafted FA rookie here playing in the game of his life. Yes, he gave up some catches and he made some good plays. Like I always have been saying, how can someone say that he wasn't good enough to make our roster? Is DVD, Lito Sheppard and Jerome Boyd better than Sterling Moore? Isaiah says yes which proved to me that he doesn't have a clue to how talent is evaluated. DVD was wack, Lito played like Tito and Jerome Boyd.... need I say more. Someone even says he will be cut from N.E. next season. As insane as that sounds I really hope the guy is right for every team in the league will put a claim in for him.

I don't care if Sterling Moore is better than any of those guys.  I don't care if he should not have been cut - for the last damn time most people didn't want him cut, not just you..  Dead horses.

I just don't like you saying a blatant and outright piece of BS in trying to imply that no one complained about the Raiders DBs this season.  It's more of the same, you trying to spin something into you being the lone voice of reason and sanity - which you are not, were not, and won't be.

Actually, Rod, envy is something people have if they LIKE you.  It's my impression that the people who are responding to you, by and large, do not.  I don't know you personally, so I can't make that kind of statement.  However, your bromance with Sterling Moore is becoming a bit taxing on most people's nerves, to say the least.  It's working my last nerve for the third time.

I'm sorry that "your guy" didn't make the cut.  Things like that piss me off sometimes, too.  However, the guys we do have are JUST AS CAPABLE as Moore and yes, just as raw.  It will take time for them to develop into the players we expect them to be-much like it did with Nnamdi Asomougha.   Personally, my money is on Chekwa.

Finally, I think a great many of the posters on these boards are correct in that you need to own up to the fact that Moore had an average or below average game.  With exception of his PI non-call, he was getting owned by Manningham.  It was truly evidenct in the 4th Q, with the game on the line.

A bigger man would admit it.  Question becomes, how big is Rod Money?

Two ex-Raiders to play for Patriots in Super Bowl

A pair of former Raiders will suit up for New England in Super Bowl XLVI: reserve DT Gerard Warren and backup DB Sterling Moore. Moore, an undrafted rookie out of SMU, stood out in camp this year with the Raiders but was surprisingly cut. He started three games for the Pats this year and has four passes defensed in two playoff games. Warren started 37 games for Oakland between 2007-09 and had 10 sacks.

The first comment is by Rapid Reports, a well respected column that know football, the second by blogger Isaiah4110, a Rollie Fingers avatar that has no clue in how to evaluate talent in any field. Who are we going to believe. No rational thinking Raider would say that he would prefer Joe Porter, Ron Parker or Jerome Boyd, guys that made the team or replaced Moore on the practice squad. That's why I am glad Al Davis and Hue Jackson are both out of here for they had no idea on how to evaluate talent and heart, just a fast 40 which is obvious to everyone. Joe Porter and Ron Parker are fast yet can't play football at this level. DVD is ultra fast but lacks instincts and ball skills. While Sterling isn't ultra fast, he has instincts and ball skills as well a being a guy who can force fumbles and ints. He is a football player and a damned good one we missed on. In the future players like Moore will remain on the roster rather than on others outplaying the current players we have here for Reggie and Dennis will not make the horrid mistakes Hue and Al made.

Rod Money got his results from match.com...a picture of Sterling Moore and a bottle of lotion.

And yes, Rod we know about the Raiders and how their greatness is in their future...So please, stop living in the past and lamenting over one freaking DB that the Raiders cut-mistake or not.  None of us hate Sterling Moore, but we might pretty soon.  Hell, I'm thinking of changing his name to Lord ____ing Voldemort, so we can start calling him "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!"

Please don't respond, as I'm sure you feel the need to have the last word.  It will only perpetuate us talking about Voldemort.  Quite frankly, we're all sick of hearing it.

What is amazing to me is that we are still talking about Sterling Moore like he is some cheating slut who left us for our best friend. The team left him hanging out to dry and he moved on to a successful team that plays in superbowls every 3 or 4 years while we are left to cry about what could have been. He is learning his craft and is happy trust me. We still have people standing on chairs with ropes around their necks because Hue Jackson got fired. I'm not going to say move on any more because it's obvious that's not possible. Moore is a rookie who is forced to be on the field more than he should be in NE because their defensive backfield is decimated. He is not that bad. He shouldn't be a starter but is a decent nickle or dime back. He can tackle he breaks up passes and causes turnovers. I would take him over every other POS nontackling corner we have not named Routt and I have been saying that since the preseason. There are ex Raider players all over the NFL but the only one people care about is this guy. At the end of the day he's getting the last laugh because he left dysfunction and is cashing a superbowl check even if it is as the losers.

Trust me when I tell you, there were more than a few of us who were right about that POS.  Speaks volumes that he's not even getting a whiff of a tryout with another team, doesn't it?  I'm not a fan of Terrelle Pryor, either-unlike Money.  The guy is extremely raw and I don't see him pushing Carson Palmer out the door anytime soon.  I do wish someone would push Kyle Boller out the freakin' door, however.  Hopefully, Campbell will stay.  There's not much out there for him.

Anyway, I'd like to say I'm looking forward to the draft and all that it offers, but we have nothing.  I'm looking forward to free agency.  Maybe we can find the next Sterling Moore...

RU, those guys that have Moore under a microscope whenever there is a any pass completed against him yet scream " He got lucky, the wr dropped the ball, the ref missed the P.I., that would have been called if he was playing here in Oakland " are all haters. Moore could have defended every pass and int. 10 passes yet if he gave up a 1 yd pass he would have sucked to the heavens. That is the definition of a true hater and it's no secret that hate came from my rants on why he was released here. So sad. Ask yourself this: Is he better than Joe Porter, Ron Parker or Jerome Boyd?

Now as for this hate you say I had vs DHB, you have to understand what hate is. What you have read in most of the replies on here is what haters do. I never hated DHB for he is a Raider. Now I was highly critical of him for I thought that it was a fool move to take him so high when there were several wr's better than him, Crabtree, Nicks, Harvin, Britt, etc. He came into camp and couldn't catch a cold in Siberia butt naked. I crticized his play, not him. He sucked his first two yrs here and that is not hatin that is a fact. Now last yr he improved to the pt that he was our best wr along with D. Moore. Now he is not a deep threat for he is a body catcher for the most part unlike Moore but he is dangerous on short routes and is a handful to bring down afterwards. He had a great season compared to his first two. If he ever learns to catch with his hands he can be a legit #1 wr. If I was a hater I would never give him props on anything positive he did and only dwell on a drop here or a fumble there and disregard the sensational plays he made throughout the season. If I was a hater I wouldn't have bashed Hue Jackson for benching him after Al died for Bey was our best wr at the time. I believe Bey can help this team for he is durable and can make plays. I was wrong in saying that he can't help this team and to trade him but he is not a worthy of being drafted so high but that was not his fault, that was Mr. Al Davis.I keep it real RU, bottom line.

I see that you keep it real as well for I posted back in 2008 that Jrock was a bust yet it was haters like Biscandan who to this day still have a vendetta live for the day to exact revenge on the $$ for calling that 4 yrs ago. Same for Hue Jackson, I don't hate on either guy, I just criticized their atrocious play or playcalling respectively.
