Welker the new Bill Buckner

Say what you want to say but Welker dropped the most important pass of his life.  Hundreds of receptions mean absolutely nothing when you drop the one for all the marbles.  He simply has great stats with no ring.  They mean nothing now.

I hope this choke absolutely haunts him for the rest of his life, however, these guys have huge egos and lots of money.  This will mean nothing to him as unlike the fan that commits their entire souls to these teams, he just goes away on vacation and plans where he will sign his new contract for next year.

Dear moron,

A true Red Sox fan never blamed Bill Buckner.

You win and lose as a team.

But I'm sure you have never played competitive athletics beyond Madden 12.

First off - The Red Sox didn't lose because of Bill Buckner...They still had their chances to win... JUST like the Patriots!  The TEAM simply did not execute and the opposition did and as a result both teams are walking away with their heads down! Secondly - Still don't know what would have happened if Welker did in fact catch the ball.  Thirdly - Brady was not himself and neither was the offense.  Fourth - the Giants gave the Patriots GOLDEN opportunities by fumbling and the Patriots did nothing to capitilize on them.

First of all Buckner's error was in game 6, there was still another game to be played, and the Redsox lost. The pass to Welker is one he makes 9 times out of 10, but it was a bad pass. If Brady hits him in stride he makes the catch, instead it was off the mark, and Welker had to twist around as he jumped into the air. Brady was off the mark a lot in this game, and the loss should not be pinned on Welker its a team game.

I am suprised you are old enough to know who Bill Buckner is. By the way, do you think the 4 threads you created are sufficient to properly cover this topic. Perhaps you should create a couple more to be safe in case everyone wasn't clear the Patriots own your head, they are just renting out the limited faculty you call a brain.

What are pro athletes supposed to do after a bad moment? Put a sheet over their heads and live in an infirmiry like The Elephant Man? You have to move on.

True Red Sox fans don't blame Bill Buckner.
That's because they're smart enough to realize they had no closer in 1986. Calvin Shiraldi? Are you kidding me? Most people forget that the 2 run lead was already blown and the game was tied when Buckner made the error. If Buckner makes the putout, the Mets most likely win the game in the 11th or 12th inning (I think the error happened in the 10th, if not mistaken).

Oh, by the way, didn't Aaron Hernandez and Deion Branch have drops late in the game too? And God forbid anybody blames Tom Brady for overthrowing Welker (granted that he still should have caught it).

Maybe it's just that you didn't actually watch the play.  As someone who did watch it and several replays of it, I can tell you that that wasn't a drop.  Brady's pass was well behind him and high.  Yes, he got his hands on it, but it still would have been a great catch if he had held it.  It's one I'd expect him to make maybe 3 times out of 10.  That play was more Brady's fault than Welker's, yet Brady is letting Welker take the blame.

Welker has nothing to be ashamed of.
Gisel needs to shut her trap and just sit there and look pretty because without Welker and even hernandez the Patriots wouldnt be in the Superbowl.

Brady is a very good Qb but lately he hasnt been playing as the best of the best so many have said he is.

That would have been one heck of a catch by Welker....and no he didnt mistime the jump as one CBS reporter has said.
He had to twist completly around while jumping for the ball, most receivers wouldnt make that catch but since it is Welker he is bashed for not making another great catch.

Brady needs to real in his wife, first...why is she still going by her maiden name? lol Second he needs to tell her that bashing the guy who makes her husband look great with super catches and  super runs isnt very smart....then again I doubt he married her for her brains. lol

Puts on fire proof suit for the upcoming flames from the ladies on here lol

I hate to see players carry this, that being said, he should have caught that ball, if he does, they win.  That simple.

Personally, I am thrilled he dropped the pass.  But I blame it more on Brady for a bad pass than Welker.  Should he have caught it?  Probably.  Was it routine?  No way, bad pass.

The most important pass of Brady's life and he made a bad pass. Hundreds of completions mean absolutely nothing if you can't hit your #1 receiver who happens to be wide open on the fly. If Brady makes a good pass it's going for 6.

That moron Ron Jawarski (who Giselle Bungeon refers to as "that guy who keeps trying to sleep with my husband") was on the radio after the game and said Brady's pass to Welker wasn't dead on because Tom had to keep it away from the safety. If Jaws can get his mouth away from Brady's "little quarterback" for ten seconds, he would realize that Giants co-owner John Mara was closer to Welker while sitting in his luxury box than any safety was.

I am not sure where I heard that same thing after the game, but it was not from Jaworski.  It was either one of the NBC announcers or NFL Network.  There was nobody close to him as far as the NFL goes.  He was as open as you get.
