well it was fun while it lasted. im not giving up just yet, but unless florida gets hot and goes on a nice run to start the 2nd half its more than likely over. giving up those two 3's in the last minute hurt.

well, I predicted a 14 point win by the Cats, but I guess I gave the Gators too much credit...we are getting ousted in the first round this year.  Guaranteed.

UK played good D like always. In the second half florida got some shots, but they didnt fall til it was too late. I like this florida squad and expect a much closer game in Gainesville. I didnt get on yesterday to read this thread but the gator fans were confident. Not near as bad as a louisville fan in November though.

I like FL in this one.  UK is due for a loss.  Look for the Gators back-court to light it up early and take the crowd at Rupp Arena out of it (to an extent).  They will lead by 8-10 at the half and win by 5.  UF 82 UK 77.
Coming from a Syracuse fan im not shocked!!

Live by the three, die by the three. Seems fitting for what Florida tried to do tonight. Someone said, mutliple times, that Kentucky couldn't defend the three. Well, guess what....now they can. Kentucky hounded Florida shooters on the perimeter tonight. This game was over when Kentucky went on a 9-0 run, after spotting Florida 6 to start the game.

March 5th will be an interesting rematch.

Florida will NOT struggle with Kentucky's legnth

Hahahahaha!!!  I LOVE being able to sum up a poster's knowledge on the college basketball game with using a single quote!

Really Jags?!?!  I tried warning you....Remember, I CAUTIONED you not to compare UK's length with that of other team's you've faced.  But you did it.  And you said Florida would NOT struggle.

Our boy Anthony Davis had 4 blocks on the night, the team had 6 total.  Even the commentators REPEATEDLY said that Florida was being intimidated by UK's length.

Player's altering shots, double-clutching and shooting higher arcs than they normally do.  Passing up shots they normally take in fear of getting blocked or deflected.  All night Jags....all night they struggled with UK's length.

See, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Florida State. Won all four games.

Congrats on those wins, but you just got spanked by UK's length.  Told you

So, I'd say that Florida matches up well with Kentucky.

Really?  Care to edit that at all?

Florida 77
Kentucky 72

Yeah, just a LIIIIIIIIIIIITTLE bit off there, wouldn't you say?

Not really. We can't play on the road, plain and simple.  We had a couple decent games at the beginning of the year vs Syracuse and OSU, but now we play like a bunch of freshman on the road.  Are there any home games in the tourney? No, there arent. And don't give me "it'll be on a nuetral court." The team we play in the first round will be considered the underdog, which means unless we play in Jacksonville, the crowd will be in favor of the other team, making it just like a road game.

We have to be honest; Kentucky is certainly one of the top 4 teams in this country.  Florida is not.  Kentucky beat Florida because they are Supposed to beat Florida.  That said, Florida is still a very good basketball team and the Gators just might do well in the NCAA tournment.  Because Kentucky has experience in playing Florida, they have figured out how to use their superior size and talent to easily win.  Other teams are lacking that experience and with the speed and the outside shooting of Florida, they have a shot of going deep into the tournment.
