Knowshon Gone?

What do you guys think?  Is the DUI the end of the line?  I think ALL of us were hopeful that he could be "the back", now it's pretty well been shown that he's not durable at all. 

I think Denver will draft a running back (or two), maybe even go after one in FA and say goodbye to Moreno.

I hope so. There's a better version of him in this years draft, ask travis. Isiah Pead. 

Knowshon Moreno is a perfect example of the differences between college and the NFL. He doesn't have the size or strength to be a power runner at the NFL level, and he doesn't have the speed to be a home run hitter, either. Yet he was able to put up incredible numbers at Georgia because he was stronger and faster than most of his competition.

He'll make a nice backup/3rd-down back somewhere, but I hope it's not with the Broncos. I'd like to see us draft either a true speed back or a real bruiser, not someone awkwardly in-between roles like Knowshon.

I believe he is gone as well.  He is always injured, fumbles to much and just isnt that good.

I'll stand behind him until he is no longer a Bronco. We didn't cut D.J. Williams when he got a D.U.I.....DURING THE SEASON, and I don't think we will cut Knowshon Moreno for that reason either.

If they deceide to cut him because they get a better player, fine....but to call for him to be cut when other players in similar situations have not been given the same fate, is kind of weak in my opinion.

You can't really make a generalization like that.. There are plenty of backs that can make it without either as long as they have the determination and right system..

I will not pull out the pitch forks just yet BUT, we are talking about Kevin Faulk with a first round pick salary/expectations.

I don't dislike the guy , but , GONE. He fumbles too much and can't stay healthy. There has to be better options out there in fa or the draft. Speaking of the draft, who do you want to see the Broncos take.

I also seem to remember Willis McGahee being hurt this season. Better get in the market for two Running Backs, if that is the criteria.

Question: Do some of you guys even watch the games?

We have a young Running Back with talent. Sure, he has been injured, but he also was struggling to learn a new system (hmmm....don't we have a young QB that everyone is just chomping at the bit to give more time?).....We have more pressing needs on this team than another Running Back. No point in drafting one early.....

His salary is only 855,000K for 2012. I doubt they cut him. They have a lot of money tied up in him and are paying him next to nothing (by NFL standards) this season. I think it's safe to say that if he can't keep healthy and be productive this will be his last season in Denver, especially with a 1.7 million salary in '13.

He is the best receiving rb we have by far and I hope the Broncos get him more involved in the passing game. I say let him fight for a job, we are already thin at rb. I don't condone him for a DUI but to me it doesn't mean he is a bad character just that he made a really bad decision.

You nailed it OC. Sometimes the best player is a hungry player. Dude has alot to prove to the organization and short time in which to do it. Could end up being a very good motivator.

You guys know my theory....at some point you have to stop looking at the spot where someone was drafted (especially when their contract is favorable) and start looking at what they bring to the team. I think Knowshon would have been a wicked matchup for teams to deal with down the stretch this season. Certainly could have been a nice dump off option for our QB.....

So true. Too much is made of draft position. Once you're drafted you are just a player on a team. All that matters is production vs pay.

To be honest,  I sure hope he's gone. I think we're done with this guy, he just doesn't have what it takes to be an effective starter in this league.

I dont think he will ever be a starter but he can be an effective 3rd down guy. No reason to cut him with the money he's making. Just ask Brian. LOL.

I have the solution. Let's just turn off the "trade restrictions" and the "salary cap", then we can cut everyone that doesn't live up to expectations and get new whipping boys in here. LOL
