Its all clear now, teams with a franchise QB and a great pass rush win Super Bowls and the Jets do not have either of those. Peyton Manning would fit perfectly with this team. Holmes, Keller, Kerley and the running game would benefit in a large way. The Jets have a pretty good defense as well, needs some improvement but is good enough.
If the Jets do go out there and do it they will make the playoffs and will compete for the AFC East as well as the AFC. Thoughts? I mean these rumors are crazy but would they give up on the Sanchise?
If he has no interest then get another QB to compete with Sanchez. If Flynn is available and will not cost us a ridiculous contract then at least explore the possibility.
Take the baby ass Sanchez and send him packing for whatever we can get. Sanchez unfortunately is a major liability and what is so sad is that we will probably not even get a 4th round draft pick however the thought of him gone will be music to my ears.
Flynn is going to be too much money, I think the organization knows that Peyton would be a great choice but the problem is that they have too much invested in Sanchez
Get a couple lineman and let Sanny work without the idiocy of Schotty, and I think the offense will be ok. Very well said. It's still not a given yet that Sanchez sucks. Schottenheimer, however, has sucked long before Sanchez even got here. Let's see what happens with a real OC.
I think Sanchez might suck. Looking at advancednflstats.com (I know, I know, stats don't matter) Sanchez was one of the worst QBs in the entire NFL. If he was like....50percentile I'd give him a shot. http://wp.advancednflstats.com/play erstats.php?pos=QB He's solidly behind some shit****ty QBs.........
On a more positive note, our defense was actually pretty good.
As much as I'd love to see Peyton in green, he still is under contract with the Colts and they'll charge just about every draft pick for the next few years to get him because they know Tannenbaum would give them up given the opportunity. While it would be a huge upgrade at the QB position, obviously, it would mean sacrificing upgrades at many key positions. Knowning Tannenbaum, he'll think that Peyton will cure all the Jets ills and keep think that it will magically make Wayne Hunter a better blocker; or somehow make the Jets have a better pass rush.
With no protection at the right side of the line, almost no competent coverage in the middle of the secondary, and still no great receiving corps, the Jets would probably only manage to back into the playoffs and fall short of the big game yet again.
