The Golf Channel is one of the few channels I watch and, yes, it does suck a good bit of the time. It sucks because they're in the tank for Woodsie. The guy has won one PGA tournament in about three years. The Chevron wasn't a PGA event; besides there were only 18 players invited and GMac wasn't one of them. Guess why.
The TGC commentators praise Woods constantly. I can't watch Morning Drive when Woods is mentioned. They seem to try to see who can praise Woods the most. Tilghman, Chamblee, Nobilo at the rest of the gang are definitely in the tank. They show almost every shot Woods makes, even when he's 10 or 12 shots back.
One thing about NBC though is that Miller will criticize Woods and does it fairly often. I was surprised when Faldo made a snide remark about Woods practicing his short game swing at the Players.
TGC keeps talking about the day Woods dominates the Tour again. They need to find another player to carry their water and forget about the loser.
Overall, Golf Channel did a pretty good job. I much prefer Feherty in the booth over Chamblee. However, there was one bizarre foulup that must be mentioned...
Jason Dufner is on No. 11, a par-5, considering his second shot. It's a long hole, so there is a choice to lay up or go for it. Dufner decides to lay up. An announcer says, "Well, if you can reach with a 3-wood, you should go for it, because it's an easy up-and-down from the front bunkers today."
Dufner hits one of his two bad shots of the day, and the ball finds one of the front bunkers. An announcer says, "Oh, what a mistake. That's an extremely difficult up-and-down from there."
