Congrats to Pierce. One of my favorite Jayhawks growing up and so glad to see him doing good in the NBA. Lets hope everything turns out like 08 with the C's and Hawks winning it all.
Paul Pierce, the greatest Celtic in the last 20 years. Think about that for a minute. Those of us who watched him all the way through know how great this guy is, he's definitely given us some moments.
Where does Boston rank Pierce in the Celtics pantheon? Behind Bird and Russel and Havlicek, I'm assuming but . . . ahead of McHale and Parrish? Or what's the thought?
I love the C's but they have not beaten anybody good this year. Their best wins were Orlando and Memphis. But they have mainly beat up on crappy teams. I'm not giving up on them, but they need to prove they can beat a good team.
Celts are old. Pierce has his title and he should feel fortunate as many great players did not win a title during their careers. As far as where he ranks among Celts greats, Pierce is up there with the greats if for no other reason than the fact he is a great clutch player and he also chose to stay in Boston for what looks to be his entire career. Pierce has paid his dues too. Many Celts teams he had could not get beyond the first round of the playoffs before he got some help.
Congrats to Paul Pierce. I remember the days when he was on the cover of NCAA Basketball (insert year here) playing for Kansas. He is a Boston Celtic through the lowly days and through the championship days and it is definitely paying dividends with this accomplishment.
