This is Coach Cal's best team at UK. Their DEF is underrated. IF, IF they continue to rain 3's and sustain the D...they will be cutting down the nets for the title! Go, Cats!!!

I'm a bit afraid to get my hopes up too much. Last year, we barely could win on the road, won the SEC tournament to secure a spot in March Madness. That team, that squeaked into the national tournament, ended up beating the overall #1, Ohio State on it's way to a final four. I'm just a little scared we might have the tables turned on us and end up doing the same thing. But they have been playing stellar consistently and if they keep that up, no one will be able to stop them. Big if though.

Uk looks like the team to beat. I think that a nuetral court will do them in come tourney time. That said they sure look good!

And they were one shot away from losing to North Carolina on their home court. It's a long and treacherous road to the final four as many many teams have found out the hard way. Ask Illinois 2005 team who came in at 36 and 1 and the media had pretty much already given them the net scissors....until the tar heels whipped them.

Kinda like what happened 2 years ago in Wall/Cousins era?

The tournament is a completely different animal.  But I like our chances with Jones, Lamb, and Miller on the team.

Because Pearl was a great coach who often made teams better than the sum of their player-parts.

The SEC is a sad league no comp what so ever. The SEC and the Big East screwed up when they didnt put SU and the Cats together.

Syracuse would be absolutely destroyed by Kentucky. They are essentially equal to Florida, having squeaked by them on a neutral court.

ThaiHeel, the team that beat UNC by two was made of of boys, barely out of high school. This present UK team is composed of men. Anyone who comares the early UK team to the present UK team isn't judging sensibly.

Calm down UK fans, while your team is clearly the best team in the nation, championships are not won in February. A sprained ankle by a key player or a bad shooting night by the team in March, and it's all over. Don't crown yourself champs yet.

henslyb, none of us are saying that UK will win the NCAA tourney. We simply feel that at this time UK might be the best team in the nation. But, if you cared to search you would find that fans from numerous other teams feel the same. So leave people alone at let them enjoy themselves.

So UK barely squeeked into the NCAA Tournament last year? Seriously? Even if they hadn't won the SEC Tournament, they were still 10-6 in a Top 6 power conference with quality wins (Tennessee twice, Vandy, Florida once, Louisville). There was no way the NCAA selection committee would have kept them out last year. That's just a ludicrous statement.

Doesnt matter. The punk team led by head punk Doron Lamb will get tripped up short of the final four.

Of course it doesn't hurt that other than Kentucky the SEC is a Weak conference top to bottom.

Obviously Kentucky is the team to beat but everyone is getting a little carried away. First off, they still don't have a true point guard. UF was only able to get their press going 4 times in the first half and they caused 2 turnovers (50%). They were unable to press because they were on the road and they couldn't get a shot to fall. Secondly UK shot lights out and they are not great from behind the arc. A team like Syracuse in the zone could really expose a lot of UK's weaknesses (lack of perimeter shooting, lack of true pg). With that being said UK is the favorite to win it all. UF will beat them at home when their shots fall and they press. Bank of that. I hate uf

You mean just like Kentucky got tripped up last year by a far superior UNC team in the ELite 8??? Oh, wait....
