How long will they keep Gee at OSU? I mean most of his career has caused his place of work problems. Anyone remember Brown University? How about his life of grandure at Vandy? Lets not forget the gems he's produced in his 2nd tenure at OSU the past year. I know I've heard many Buckeye fans express their dislike for the man, and while he does an enormous ammount of good for the universities he's headed, he's also brought a distinct unease that trails from his lips. We've all experienced the mouth of a 'fool' in sports who let's their emotions best them at the worst of times, but how long can Gee stay afloat like this, when his comments have slowly become more outrageous?

What do you guys think? Is Gee signing his death warrent with words written from tongue, or are his words just the right type of fuel for an outrageous fire that burns for Ohio football?

He is the main reason that Ohio State is somewhat of a rogue program.  The fish rots from the head first.

What bothers me about his comments to beilema at Wisconsin is that I have never heard of any hint at wrong doing at Wisconsin.

I could be wrong but I think Wisconsin has a very good reputation as far as running clean athletic programs.

I will say this about Gee, he is a true representative of that University, if that's how you want to be represented.

He's really not a bad guy.He just doesn't hink before he speaks and it makes all of tOSU fanbase cringe. His attempt at humor comes across really crappy if you arent "in on the joke".I don't really think he needs to go but a nice pieceof duct tape on his mouth would be a pleasant change.

As a local, but non Buckeye fan I find his comments funny.  A man in his position should not grab as many headlines as he does, it just is not a good strategy.  He has really become the Ochocinco of University Administrators.  Entertaining, but probably not what the fanbase wants as their front man.

You know a man that fancies himself a DR.  he is one ignorant fool.  I just wish he'd shut his pie hole because frankly, hes overly annoying.  The sisters of the poor really irritated me just because it shows a lack of class.  The other comments just speak volumes to his moronic behavior.  I guess my old Morman and Moron moniker still shows truths.

Until he stops being the number one money making machine he is, he's not going anywhere, like him or hate him. I think Gene Smith should have been booted long ago but he has enough sense to stay out of Urban's way so I guess all is well.

Sooner...I think this is the dead time for college football. Why else would any of us give a flip what he says now or at all for that matter but since we are on the subject of Ohio State how as Gene Smith kept his job? He is such a piece of work. I heard him interviewed after JT got fired and he was carrying on about how he knew nothing...I guess that means he didnt see or hear anything either..Seriously? The entire city knew about the tattoo parlor, what athletes hung out there, etc. but he didnt? If you buy that then why didnt he know? Its his job to know. His whole polishing his halo routine was pretty sickening and smacked of let me thing...lying. But he is a big money raiser for Ohio State so gotta keep him no matter what.

E. Gordon Gee, along with many Presidents/Chancellors at Universities, are just a different breed of person.

Look out across the landscape and you see much the same.  Donna Shalala at Miami.  Harvey Perlman at my beloved Nebraska.  Graham Spanier at Penn State.

They are like the most upbeat salesman at any company.  They are somehow naive to the shortcomings of the product that they represent, and always in full on belief that what they are doing is of the most important degree.  Not sure how they do it, but they simply have a 'gift' at never seeing anything wrong or impartial with what they are representing and promoting.

They are so used to uplifting retreats and the glad-handing with huge donors to their schools that they simply don't see the 'dark side' of anything relating to their schools, or they have some mechanism of completely ingnoring it.

They don't even come close to living a life of that a normal person lives.  They live in a world full of puppy dogs, sunshine, rainbows, and everybody living the high life.  They likely have no concept of reality.
