That's NOT the point at all! What the Giant offense and Eli did in that game was ordinary, what the Giants D accomplished was what was astounding and the more valuable performance!
Any amount of points counts as offense....it doesn't matter if you win by 1 point or 40....scoring is scoring....i agree that the defense was lights-out yet again, but you can't give a defense the MVP award. There's really only one award that's worth a damn in the NFL, and that's the Lombardi trophy/SB ring....the whole team got that collectively.Scoring 17 points is hardly an offense (and thereby Eli) showing Most Valuable credentials, limiting one of the most prolific offenses to 14 points by the Giants Defense, certainly IS.
I am not traumatised in any way he recieved THIS one.I am, now we have to listen to that moron Deion Sanders sing "I Believe In Eli" over and over again.
Brady, Brady, Brady! - MVP should have gone to Brady because I am a Brady jock remora and believe Brady has never did anything wrong, like loosing in the biggest game in football, TWICE!

here is one legit strike against Eli's MVP credential however. He moved the ball down the field to quick and scored with a minute left. He gobbled up 89 yards in a blink of an eye. Needs to manage the clock better. Can't just dice up a defense like that and not watch the clock.
i believe it was bradshaw that scored the touchdown instead of taking a knee on the one, if i'm not mistaken. other than that eli managed the clock fine, they would have kicked a fieldgoal ( hopefully ) as time expired. but i guess it is hard not to score when you have wide open space in front of you, it goes against the natural instinct. If he went down there that would have been horrible. I trust the defense more than I trust Tynes, he is good most of the time but I have watched him blow extra points and 25 yard field goals. There is just way too much that can go wrong on a field goal to give up a guaranteed score, just ask Billy Cundiff, Matt Allen / Trey Junkin / Matt Bryant, and Scott Norwood. Hell in the NFCCG against San Fran if not for a great hold by Weatherford they might not even get the game winning fg attempt off.
