Did the Giants D get jobbed AGAIN?

February 8, 2012 1:30 pm

That's NOT the point at all! What the Giant offense and Eli did in that game was ordinary, what the Giants D accomplished was what was astounding and the more valuable performance!

You win.  The fact that you even consider him to possibly not be MVP of this years Supe makes me realize this argument is futile.  I'll just have to rely on the FACT that he actually won both MVPs.

Try to find anything that will enforce your argument that Ben is better than Eli eh? Face it dude, he isn't. Sure the defense was great ... but so was Eli. Twice he lead the team down the field for a TD in the dying minutes of the Super Bowl. He deserved both.

and really? coming from a Stoolers fan? Get real. Not only did Ben not win either of his game's MVP's, his wide outs did ... showing once again that he is not the reason that team wins.

But since you like stats so much … here is one for you: Eli had a QB rating of 103 this past Super Bowl. Ben’s highest was 93 … and he set the record for the lowest rated QB to win a Super Bowl with clutch 22.52 passer rating! Yeah, he’s totally better.

Don’t be jelly that your QB has more rape accusations against him than Super Bowl MVP’s.

Brady's brainfart in the endzone on the Pats first offensive series, and the subsequent free kick defined the game's outcome.

The rest of the game was more or less a draw.

Scoring 17 points is hardly an offense (and thereby Eli) showing Most Valuable credentials, limiting one of the most prolific offenses to 14 points by the Giants Defense, certainly IS.

Any amount of points counts as offense....it doesn't matter if you win by 1 point or 40....scoring is scoring....i agree that the defense was lights-out yet again, but you can't give a defense the MVP award.  There's really only one award that's worth a damn in the NFL, and that's the Lombardi trophy/SB ring....the whole team got that collectively.

Yes, for whatever that is worth. However, to set the record straight: I do think he was eligible for consideration this year, and I am not traumatised in any way he recieved THIS one.

Ah yes, expanding your idiocy beyond hockey again I see. I can point to LOTS of reasons why Ben > Eli, with the exception of SB win% and sacks. Just about every other stat Ben smokes Eli so bad, Eli looks like Ryan Leaf by comparison.

Again, like the tard you are, you of course invent some BS motivation behind this that is as you are, completely wrong.
-
The reason I did this, is that the Giants are my favorite NFC team, and I especially like their defense, and while I think it may be a weak case this time, they definitely got screwed the last time.

Brady, Brady, Brady! - MVP should have gone to Brady because I am a Brady jock remora and believe Brady has never did anything wrong, like loosing in the biggest game in football, TWICE!

The greatest short yardage passer of all time you say?

Food for thought, Brady's first MVP, you know that one where his defense intercepted Warner twice.

His final stats = 16 for 27 for 145 yards....but, let's look deeper.

Of that 145 yards, 83 yards was after the catch.  That leaves 62 yards thrown in the air by Terrific Tom.

And if you're wondering, he threw it only twice in the air and completed it over 10 yards.  Once for 11, and once for 14.  And only 3 other times in between 5 yards and 10 yards.  Or 11 times under 4 yards in the air.

There's some good MVP info for ya...Cool

here is one legit strike against Eli's MVP credential however.  He moved the ball down the field to quick and scored with a minute left.  He gobbled up 89 yards in a blink of an eye.  Needs to manage the clock better.  Can't just dice up a defense like that and not watch the clock.

i believe it was bradshaw that scored the touchdown instead of taking a knee on the one, if i'm not mistaken. other than that eli managed the clock fine, they would have kicked a fieldgoal ( hopefully ) as time expired. but i guess it is hard not to score when you have wide open space in front of you, it goes against the natural instinct.

as far as the original post, nobody except for eli stood out in either game. yes the defense was great in both games and they couldn't win either game without them AS A UNIT, but they also couldn't have won either game without Eli Manning ( AN INDIVIDUAL ), it was eli that had the game winning drive in both games with the clock ticking. it was eli that came through in the clutch both times. one guy on offense vs 11 guys on defense, face it, they're not giving 11 guys as corvette, sorry.

"SOL":  Hope that you enjoyed the game.  I KNOW you did.  DEF MVP is not often given out-as you know.  Our DEF would be flattered that you were that impressed-but there are no MVPs for the whole unit.  Tuck had 2 sacks & JPP batted down a bunch of balls-although Brady hit him with the ball most of the time.

I was thinking maybe Nicks.  He was over 100-but NO TD.  You gotta go ELI.  75% completions (30-40) is great any/every week, but esp nice in the SB.  JFOL.

with this past one, I at least see Eli as a possible, but someone or someones got screwed over when they gave Eli the MVP in the last one.

Let's face it; Disney ain't gonna spring for four guys going to Disney World. And the car company (whoever/whatever they are) ain't gonna cough up four automobiles. Right?

If he went down there that would have been horrible.  I trust the defense more than I trust Tynes, he is good most of the time but I have watched him blow extra points and 25 yard field goals.  There is just way too much that can go wrong on a field goal to give up a guaranteed score, just ask Billy Cundiff, Matt Allen / Trey Junkin / Matt Bryant, and Scott Norwood.  Hell in the NFCCG against San Fran if not for a great hold by Weatherford they might not even get the game winning fg attempt off.
