Is Flacco similar to Eli?

That's true. But Seattle and Chicago had the same amount of takeaways as the Giants and they failed to make the playoffs due to the fact that Seattle has no quarterbacks and once Jay Cutler got injured, their season went downhill fast.
Why bother replying? You just answered your own question.

That is the reason why they beat the Dallas Cowboys on week 14, but if Eli Manning and the Giants offense dont drive down the field twice and score two touchdowns in the final four minutes of the game, it dosen't come down to Pierre-Paul's blocked field goal (not taking anything away from Pierre-Paul).
Without that W in week 14, you wouldn't have been competing for a playoff spot. It would have either been the Eagles or the Cowboys in the playoffs.

So, when Brady won his three rings, defense was a major factor.
The point of my response was to get a response when a defense didn't play a factor in a Super Bowl victory because Steelers cant win one without defense like the Giants apparently.

Lol ok so u wanna play that game??  Alright Eli Manning is better than Big Ben since the 2011 season
I judge qbs on consistant play. Eli isn't consistant year in and year out.

Really bro stop being a homer because majority of the realistic fans would take a healthy P. manning over Big Ben anyday.
Yea and I'm sure you would take Shaq over Dwight Howard to.....

Oh so now the Steelers defense is so horrible now right??
When you talk about the amount of sacks, takeaways, and so on.........yes!! Do you not remember Steelers defense being called old earlier this year for the amount of points, yards, and so on they gave up?

I find it funny u leave out how many points/yards the Steelers defense gave up last year because the Giants defense were at the bottom of the barrel in scoring defense which is THE MOST IMPORTANT DEFENSIVE STAT PERIOD!!
Takeaways isn't? Takeaways give offense more possessions to score. Is that a good enough hint for you?

I think one day Joe Flacco could be as good as Eli is right now.  Sure the stats are comparable for the two. But Eli has that trait Peyton has and could one day before they both retire could be as good if not better than Peyton.

I think Joe Flacco needs to make it to the Superbowl to be considered one of the best where Eli is now.  I look at the source of the article or thread here that the Ravens OC is the one drawing that comparison. An OC that couldn't figure out how to properly use a top 5 RB this season instead thinks he needs to throw the ball 40 times a game to have a chance to call his QB elite. If Joe gets more playmakers to go with Anquan Boldin around him and an O-Line that can actually block for him maybe he will be elite like Eli is now. Until then the stigma is always going to be the Ravens defense  and that alone.

My stat is better, no my stat is better.  My QB is better, no my QB is better.

Everybody clings to their own stats.

I'm partial to scoring differential, typically the team with the best scoring differential does the best in the playoffs (best across the year that is).

The Giants actually completely blew that stat out the window.  Why?  Because the defense was (this TRULY is the most important stat) surrendering more points than the offense could score many times this season.  So with a defense that played inconsistently all year whatever could have been the consistency this year???? And the year before when the Giants were a sieve???  Or the year before when they fielded the worst defense in the franchise history (statistically)????

Hmmmmmm..........

Wow did u really make this analogy??  Horrible analogy bro.  Shaq looked reaaly bad his last couple of years. When has Peyton shown any significant decline???  Here's more proof of you being a blinded homer: You said Ben has been better than Peyton since 09 right?? Ok didnt Peyton Manning win the NFL MVP award in 09?? Didn't Peyton take the Colts to the Superbowl in 09??  Stop it bro because u have no leg to stand on here. And I pray to God u are not saying that Ben is better because of QB rating??Embarassed Peyton in 09 and 10 had more yards and TD's while playing all 16 games and it wasn't even any discussion of Ben being in the same class as Peyton and now he is better??Undecided Even most Steeler fans know that Peyton Manning when healthy is better than Big Ben so stop with the nonsense. Just be happy that u have a solid Qb. Can't believe u used Shaq as an analogy; try again bro because I almost cried when i saw the Shaq/Dwight comparison.

Do you not remember Steelers defense being called old earlier this year for the amount of points, yards, and so on they gave up?
And what does that have to do with the outcome of the Steelers defense as a whole in the 2011 season??  Did u guys not have a top 5 defense in yard/points given up?? Once again you are making yourself look worse because at the end of the day the Steelers still had a top 5 defense.

Takeaways isn't? Takeaways give offense more possessions to score. Is that a good enough hint for you?

Really?? So let me get this straight, takeaways are more important than points given up??  U really are clueless if you feel that way bro.  Takeaways are great to have but the offense not scoring is obviously more importan. Scoring defense (points given up) is the most important defensive stat and that bro is a fact. No one with a brain and football knowledge will argue that fact. So once again stop trying to diss you defense because I'm not buying it.

The point of my response was to get a response when a defense didn't play a factor in a Super Bowl victory because Steelers cant win one without defense like the Giants apparently.

In my opinion, Super bowl 38, New England Patriots vs Carolina Panthers, defense wasn't a major factor, but that was really the only Super Bowl where defense was a non-factor. In almost every recent Super Bowl, there were some turnovers that the defense created to put the opposing team in a bigger hole to climb out of. Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay intercepted two passes and caused 1 fumble. New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts, Tracy Porter intercepted Peyton Manning for a touchdown that pretty much sealed the deal. Pittsburgh Steelers vs Arizona Cardinals, James Harrison intercepted Kurt Warner and ran 99 yards for a touchdown at the end of the first half. That play gave Pittsburgh all the momentum going into the second half. Super Bowl 42 New York Giants vs New England Patriots, the Giants defense sacked Tom Brady numerous times in needy situations.

There are still a few more recent Super Bowls I can discuss, but looking at the last ten Super bowls, Super Bowl 38 Patriots vs Panthers was really the only Super Bowl where defense did not play a big part.

#s, wins, and everything else proves that statement is false.
I don't make false statements...that would make a liar...certainly not my style.  I guess the only real surefire way to see who's the better qb would be to have them play against each other in the SB next year, but the odds are not in favor of that....but hey anything can happen....hell, if Pig Ben can get away with rape twice then maybe the odds aren't so unlikely.

It wouldn't have mattered if the opponents field goals are good or not?

nope, not in that game..not if Eli doesn't play his a$$ off, and certainly not if Eli doesn't play at an elite level all season long.

I judge qbs on consistant play. Eli isn't consistant year in and year out.

neither is Pig Ben.....consistency should translate into winning in the playoffs, which didn't happen for them once he got his a$$ kicked by Tim Tebow this year.
