In my opinion, if it's alright with you in the United States of America, if I may be so bold as to exercize my first amendment rights to free speech;

this is my view:

1. In re Catholic Church-  The church screwed up-  they cared more about the Priests than the kids.  
2. In re Penn State-  The school screwed up-  they cared more about the football team and the football coach than the kids. 
3. In re Miramonte Elementary School- The school & the teacher's union screwed up-  they cared more about the teachers than the kids.

This is what I believe.


It will be impossible for you to stop me from speaking my mind on this.

 here is the TRUE comparision..... 

IF you are a Catholic and cover up for child rape than you support pedophiles.
IF you are a catholic and make excuses for child rapists and the churches cover up, then you are the same as the typical Penn State supporter.

I don't see anyone on here supporting Sandusky.  I don't see anyone here supporting Curley or Schwartz, or Spanier.  The only supprt I see is for Paterno.  Paterno because people feel he took this to the appropriate authorities, and what he took was a third party account of the situation.  He did not personally witness anything.  So I'd like to hear some explanation about how he was involved in any sort of coverup.  If Paterno intended to sweep it under the rug I would think he'd have let it go no further than the conversation he had with Mike McQueary.  If a cover up was anyone's intent I think we need to look more closely at the actions of Curley, Schulz, and Spanier rather than continuing the make this a Paterno issue.   I would not be in support of Paterno if he directly witnessed something, and did not taken this to those he felt would handle it. 

And in response to Butch staing that Sandusky wasn't his employee, well at that time he wasn't Paternno's employee either.  If the responsiblity for reporting a crime is that you have to have some sort of relationship with the person you are accusing of the crime a lot of crimes would go unreported.

Paterno didnt take it to ANY authorities....when exactly did co-workers become a legal authority?

Gary Schulz-Head of the University Police department and yes the University police are the real police.  So don't try that tired argument that they aren't.  They are not merely co-workers my friend. 

Would you not consider themn the authorities?  Who then, tell me, are the authorities that he should have gone to.  Paterno did what he thought was right.  He did not "harbor" Sandusky as many of you want to belive.  From all accounts they hadn't even spoke to each other.  Sandusky and Paterno parted ways in 1999, and not necessarily in the most amicable of terms. 

I'd like you to explain exactly what Paterno allowed, and how he allowed it.  It's people lke you that we are talking about that want to drag Paterno through the muck, but never mention anyone else in your posting because those names are not sensational enough for you and would not get nearly the attention from posters like you.  Pateron's the hot button, so that's the one you keep pushing.

The weird thing is that they have cult hero worshipp thing for One Man-

One man who was one of many in the Penn State football program who was involved, and obviously so, in a conspiracy to cover up a molestation scandal occuring over decades.

They think by blindly defending the One Man-  that we somehow missed how dirty everybody else was including those who won't even accept the facts now!

Their defense is both absurd and illogical.

The One Man is free of blame-  only everybody else here was filthy, rotten, dirty..  so...
