ELI WAS MVP OF BOTH SBOWLS. ROTHLESBERGER WAS GREAT IN ONE AND BAD INTO OTHERS. EDGE MANNING. WILL ALSO HAVE LONGER CAREER DUE TO THE STYLE OF BIG BENS PLAY. GOOD DEBATE BOTH HAVE ACCOMPLISHED ALOT. IN THE LONG RU N ELI WILL HAVE EDGE

Eli didn't rape anyone and won 2 superbowls himself. Ben was given 1, was on much stronger teams, and played far inferior opponents.

I respectfully disagree. Although I am a die-hard BIG BLUE fan, I will admit Pitt has had a better overall team since the 2004 draft. Eli elevates those around him. Furthermore, Pittsburgh plays in a much weaker division. Until this one down year, the NFC East has been arguably the toughest division - and except for a decent Ravens team (okay, damn good this year), who concerns the Steelers?? Cleveland?? Cincy?? Nope, I must favor Eli. Besides, our ladies are safe with Manning!

Blah Blah Blah... who the hell cares if the Giants made the playoffs in 09 and 10... if thats the best the haters have, thats pretty weak. And to the person who said the Giants dont win either SB without Tuck.. You think they win either SB without Eli? if you do, youre a true moron. They dont even HAVE 9 wins and a playoff spot in 2011 if not for Eli carrying them to 9 wins.. when Tuck was doing JAck Poop along with the rest of that Defensive line during their losing streak.. They only people doing ANYTHING during the losing streak was Eli and those Receivers. But that Defense couldnt stop anybody.

If it's that close, why wouldn't you take Eli just for the character issues?

Both quarterbacks are extremely clutch in high pressure situations especially in the super bowl. I feel that Big Ben has a better supporting cast then Eli Manning. Although Ben's career stats are better than Eli's mainly because Eli sucked his first four seasons in the NFL, I would still take Eli over Big Ben mainly because of Ben's off the field issues and because I feel Ben takes more of a beating in an NFl game then Eli does and due to that Eli would last a few more seasons longer without any severe injuries.

With that being said, you cannot go wrong with both quarterbacks because these guys have multiple rings and are proven quarterbacks.

The comment about the weaker division being the AFC North is incorrect - since 2004, the AFC North has had more wins than the NFC East 4 times (2004, 2006, 2010 and 2011), the NFC East has also had more wins than the AFC North 4 times (2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009).  Both divisions sport a winning percentage, over that span, of 53%.  Over the last 8 seasons the NFC East has won 273 games, and the AFC North 269.  The AFC North has had a winning percentage above .500 6 times in that span, and NFC East 4 times.  Pretty even if you ask me - if you're going to claim "Greatest Division in Football," you better get the stats to back it up, son.

It's no question Eli is a better all around QB than Ben.

It's too bad Rives didn't play for the Steelers or Giants. With those Defenses he would have won 4 Superbowls already.

And the Giants win or get to their SB's without D? that is a dumb comment. No way the Giants stop the undefeated Patriots team that year if their D doesn't play out of their mind and shut down that offense. Big Ben may have played bad in the first super bowl and played with a great D, but to say he is not the reason they win all the playoff games and super bowls is crazy. I don't remember the Steelers winning big games with great defenses when we had Kordell Stewart or Tommy Maddox at the helm.

Eli vs Peyton is an apples & oranges comparison because of their age differernce. Eli vs Ben is apples to apples. The author compares stats & playoff successes, but he never addresses who he'd rather have as QB in 2012 and the next few seasons after that. Right now Peyton is going to the HoF and Ben has better credentials. But I think that Eli is playing better now and will do so over the next few years. I say that he also outplays Ben & his brother going forward.

I enjoyed this article and this debate. I'd like to agree w/ Mr. Judge - Roethlisberger by a narrow margin and I admit I'm a Steelers fan, but I think its too close to tell. Honestly, it seems like one is marginally better every other year! The Giants play the Steelers next year - so we'll get another chance to see. Hopefully they both stay healthy.
