Let Grubbs walk? Running back replacement?

The Ravens will most likely let Grubbs walk. Its a shame because he is the best guard the ravens have, and an underrated guard his entire career too. But it doesn't make sense to pay 2 guards elite money and not many teams do that. Its a shame Yanda's contract came up first...good player but he wasn't worth that kind of money imo. And at the end of the day both guards sucked when it came to protecting flacco. We don't need to invest more money into run blocking, we probably need to invest more into protecting joe. If a guy like Carl Nicks hits FA the ravens would be better of spending the money on him...not that they will because we are already paying yanda.

I completely disagree that the Ravens are "hurting" at WR. First of all the Ravens offense will most likely place only 2 WRs on the field at one time. Cam Cameron would much rather stick TEs and HBs and FBs into the formation than put additional WRs. Torrey Smith had a very good rookie season, and showing signs of becoming a #1 1000 yard WR even. Anquan Boldin is a #1......so if anyone wants to present the argument that he is on the decline then he is a phenomenal #2. We have Pitta who we line up at WR alot as well and produced alot for us for a #2 TE/#3 WR. Then Dickson playing TE. Where is the room for any additonal WRs? Lee Evans was on the team and couldn't even get on the field even when he was healthy. We have David Reed who is a good player imo never getting on the field and Tandon Doss. Im sorry there is no need to adress WR at all....especially for a heavy run based offense.

#2 back I like Anthony Allen...i think he had a very good preseason and i think he will be a serviceable #2, but i wouldnt be surprised if we picked up a cheap older FA like Thomas Jones.

Justify,

Those are some sound points with regards to the Wide Reciever situation, I think for most of us when we think about the wide reciever position we would like to see more efficiency and more production. As I have said before, I am TIRED of seeing receivers get hit in the hands or on the numbers and drop the ball. I think this can get better as our young wide receivers continue to work with Joe and get comfortable within the offense. I trust the Ravens to sort out the #2 RB situation, they will find someone effective for the right money.

I agree with everything Justify said here.  I'd rather see David Reed get more playing time than drafting another WR this year or overpaying for yet another vet, especially since those vets have been the ones to personally let the team down the past two seasons.

One thing I find interesting is the overwhelming desire for another WR considering that the majority of this fanbase spent most of last season screaming to just run the ball or saying they don't trust the QB.  Depth at WR is one thing but people want bonafide stars to be picked up or high round draft picks

On the Running back replacement front I just listened to Jackie Battle Free Agent back up running back that played for the Chiefs on Sirius NFL Network and I have to say that I was completely impressed with his attitude, apparently he is a back up Fullback and Tailback that can and has played a bunch of special teams, when asked what system he thinks fits him best he said the Zone Run Blocking scheme, he may be a decent and affordable fit for the Ravens
