That's a nice hunch, but the Flyers recent play doesn't encourage that notion at all. They've been sloppy not only on the blueline, but also from the forwards in their own zone. Detroit is playing well right now, and the Flyers are still playing with crucial pieces missing and Briere just returned and the chemistry that he had with the line just isn't back yet.
I don't think it'll happen, though. I think the Wings beat the Ducks and lose to the Flyers to snap the win streak at 19. Call it a hunch more than anything, but I'm thinking the Flyers will come in to Detroit with a good effort just to snap the streak before the Wings tie the record.
Hakuna Matata.I don't speak Portugese.
What the hell does that mean anyway? It means no worries, for the rest of your days.
20 in a row in 2012 is more difficult than in 1976 when the Flyers did it.

Just as 20 in a row in 2012 is more difficult than in 1976 when the Flyers did it. The '76 Flyers streak was much more impressive than one from '29-30.
CLV has kids or is just a kid at heart.I'm only 8 years old. You didn't know this?

"That's a nice hunch, but the Flyers recent play doesn't encourage that notion at all." They may not seem like the most qualified candidate but if the Red Wings are still streaking when the Flyers arrive; Detroit better play like its Game 7 of the Finals. Regardless of how a team is playing currently, it is still a professional team. There is no team unable to beat any other on a given night. That night, the Flyers would be playing for history and their right to keep it. Just as 20 in a row in 2012 is more difficult than in 1976 when the Flyers did it. The '76 Flyers streak was much more impressive than one from '29-30. It'll be 60 minutes to keep a franchise's record and I bet they will be plenty aware and plenty ready. If you haven't followed the conversation, you probably missed that the Flyers don't exclusively hold this record, as the Bruins are tied with it. And Red Wings beating the Flyers wouldn't break the record, but put themselves into a 3-way tie. They would need to beat the Stars as well to have it to themselves.
If Red Wings do set the record, I really don't think it should be breaking the all-time record. It should be consider a record under the modern/current rules and not an all-time records. The old record was set when there were ties. If no one scored in the 5 minute overtime it was considered a tie and would stop the winning streak. I know that that streak would have ended in their last game when the Red Wings had to go to a shootout to beat the Ducks. With the old rules, that game would have ended in a tie and would have stopped the Wings winning streak.
