Refs Screwed us again.

First off great shot but Come on Refs why do u love Duke so much.  Half of those fouls in the 2nd half was a joke.  Then the last 2 mins Duke took extra steps 3 times in a row and not 1 call.  This one hurts but we will be fine. 

Should the Tarheels really give up 8 points in just over a minute?? Not really a reffing screw job there.

Carolina way to casual to end the game, BUT, the reality is the refs cost UNC a win tonight.  Phantom foul calls and a HUGE missed travel on Curry's three.  This game should have been at least a 3-point UNC victory.


Congratulations to Duke for playing this game as well as it can be played.

1 more thing, when the chips were down, Zellar, a 80% FT shooter shoots 50% on his last 4 attempts.  Could that be a reason that 3 beat us??

Refs gave both sides call ref helped both teams and hurt both. We didn't lose because of refs we lost bc we didn't kill duke when the only person that came to play from duke was Austin rivers. He single handly kept kept them in the game and how they didn't think he was not gonna shot the three is beyond me. I would have fouled them and let us get the last shot. I want to say I was right n wrong with my prediction. Right that it was a close game but wrong that UNC should have closed the game when up by ten with about 2 left. This will hurt but good news were still ties for the lead it's a three way tie. Good win dook but let's move on and win the regular season title.

Could someone try to explain why Zeller choked and went retarded in the last minute. Missed FT's, a tip in and when the clock is running down you have to know, as a senior, that he is out of time and is going to force up a shot, ur 7 feet tall! Get up on him. Way to blow the game Zeller

But we aren't really tied.  FSU and Duke both hold the tie-breaker against UNC.  Completely wasted chance to have first place all alone.


Roy had better go to town on defending the three point line.  No way should a team win by shooting 30+ threes on UNC's home court, not even Duke on a completely lucky night for them.  In that situation, you give up ANY OTHER SHOT or you at least foul and prevent the basket.  Not smart basketball by UNC tonight.


And yes, even with Carolina's inept play down the stretch, the back-breaker was the officiating and the missed (by no one except the officials) travel before Curry's three.

Sure Dook got favorable calls but please......NO EXCUSES......WE CHOKED.......Roy inexplicably told the guys to stop attacking and ran iso plays. We then turned the ball over...tipped a shot in.....missed free-throws and I'm still trying to figure out how a Dean's List student went brain dead in the final minutes.....I was screaming at my TV to get up on him......EVERYONE and their momma knew Rivers was goning to pull fot a 3,......WE DESERVED TO LOSE THIS GAME......STOP CRYING AND MAKING EXCUSES.....EXCUSES ARE FOR LOSERS......

I thought the refs were fine all night until about 3 minutes to go in the game then they took over. 1. Kelly shoots a three that no one touches but they give it back to Duke and they hit a three. 2. Curry takes three maybe four steps without dribbling and hits a three no call. 3. Zeller gets shoved in the back no call we should be shooting free throws instead he tips it in so probably atleast a 3 point swing. Now with all that said we still should have won this game but Duke had there best night and we played average at best. If Duke wouldn't have hit a ton of three this game would have been blow out city.

It is what it is we should have blown them out and put them away but we didn't. So then they got hot from three and the refs took over from there. I have to give Rivers credit though he whipped our tails tonight and he deserved to win but no one else from Duke did. This is the second time now I have seen a call and said that call will change the game and it happen. One was tonight when Curry took 3 steps and hit the three and the other was when Duke was in the National Championship game against Butler when Singler was under the goal and drew a charge on Hayward which should have been a foul and the basket. Both ended in Duke wins by 2 or less points but I guess that's the way it goes.

This will be a tough game to get other mainly because we should have blew Duke off the floor and the calls that killed us at the end. I don't see how Duke gets so dang lucky in these games but it always happens so maybe it's fate or something. Coach K coaches jacking up three balls all game long if they are hitting they have a chance if they are cold they lose unfortuantly for us they were hitting tonight. Only a National Championship this year will get me over this game and the feeling of losing to a Duke team at home that we should have beat by double digits.

While there were definitely some bad call and no calls, make free throws down the stretch and it's good night Duke.  Even without the free throws, Zeller has to run Rivers off the 3pt line and force a two.  The only way we lose at the end is on a three, Zeller needs to know that and force Rivers to drive.  At worst we go to OT.

Crystal I agree missing free throws definitely hurt us down the stretch but you call an obvious walk on Curry and it don't matter if we hit them or not. I'm just so tired of obvious calls being missed at the end of games especially when there is 2 or 3. I understand that we should have never let Duke back in the game but when a ref changes the out come of a game it really hurts. Maybe this game helps our team and makes them realize they have to put teams away but losing to a way less talented Duke team sucks. I mean they have won what 5 out of 6 or something like that. That is pathetic in my book even if they do get lucky and get a few calls they shouldn't.

I agree about defending and hitting freethrows but what got Duke back into the game was the refs.  losing the game was on Free throws and Defense.  With out those non calls and fouls duke isnt in position to win that game. 

STILL CRYING, THE REFS SIDED UNC THE WHOLE GAME DUFAS, WE DIDNT CRY REFS OR FOUL IN OUR DEFEATS WITH FSU AND MIAMI, TRY BEING A LITTLE MORE TRUTHFUL ABOUT WHAT ACTUALLY TAKES PLACE WHAT ARE YOU 15.

5 star post ktrip, let's stop with the ref sob story because If it was dook crying ya wouldn't want to hear it. We lost because we thought we had the game locked up and stopped playing. Missed free throws too much iso we had a chance to bury them and we didn't. I mad we lost but lets stop the excuses refs didn't make Barnes n z misses free throws or tell z to give rivers space to pop a three. Yes the refs were horrible but for both sides they weren't the reason UNC went brain dead for the last three minutes of the game. Let this be a lesson that you must put down your opponent and leave nothing to chance. The better team lost the resilient team won... But save the excuses for dook when they lose in round 2 of the march madness.this is UNC we don't make excuses we win championship let this burn and be a reminder of how to close a game
