how did this happen? UNC has the better talent, home court, higher ranked. That was supposed to happen
Bottom line is that Ole Roy got out coached.  His team was spiraling and he did nothing to reverse it.  He also made a big mistake by putting Harrison Barnes on Rivers in the first half.  Don't know what he was thinking by putting a forward with a sprained ankle on a quick guard.  Rivers destroyed Barnes in the first half and gained a ton of confidence that carried him through the rest of the game.  The Heels also stopped feeding Zeller in the second half.  It frustrated Zeller so much that when given the opportunity, he took a pass and laid one in for Duke late in the game.

Either team could have won that game last night. Duke won it because they hit shots and Carolina didn't. It was great for college basketball to have this game end like it did. That's what makes March Madness except we are still in February. Roy did speak in the post game like somebody just shot his dog.

Well somebody did shoot his dog douggie, or his 8 dogs or however many they have in rotation. Missed FT's and not hitting a basket in the final 2 minutes will do that to a team. Everyone is talking about Duke winning on a buzzer beater and how they aren't as good as UNC and losing to Miami and FSU at home, but FSU beat us on a buzzer beater and Miami couldn't hold a lead on the road (i.e. Duke at the Dean Dome) but managed to win due to some poor Duke FT shooting in OT. That's why the game is played. Georgetown almost took down a 1 loss Syracuse team on the road. Enjoy college basketball for what it is and stop all the hate.

Bias??????????   I'm a UK fan.  Take your medicine this morning.  I hate both these programs, and a player control foul is a block or charge.  Your feet has to be set before the player leaves the floor.  Do you even realize how much of a point swing can go into one bad call.  I'm basically stating that refs are getting worse thru the years.  I wish all refs were like Hightower.  He is fair and consistent as they come.  Close calls are understandable, but 4 steps is a walk, and how do you miss that.  Everybody knows that Duke flops every game.  That's UNC's fault for not having higher basketball IQ.  GO BIG BLUE......................

Seldom do I ever comment on this site, mostly like to just read the comments and the back and forth on the different topics. But, every so often I read things and can't resist anymore.  For the people who keep saying Curry traveled, and the refs sucked and that's the reason Duke won and Carolina lost. I also noticed calls and no calls go AGAINST Duke. So, while I agree that Curry traveled, I also know Marshall fouled Thorton and that it was not called.  Barnes in my opinion had, what I believe was a charge, not get called anything. It was a no call, and should have been either a block or a charge.        My point is, there were calls that went for Duke that could have went the other way, but there were also calls that went for Carolina that could have went the other way. I always try to be honest and call what I see no matter who is playing, and I honestly believe this game was one of the best officiated  Duke-Carolina  games I have ever seen. No matter what team you pull for you can find bad calls in all games, in all sports. This was not one of those games where the calls were so bad that it affected the outcome, I believe it was a wash as far as bad calls. So for all the haters, just remember your perspective is exactly that, YOURS. There is also my perspective and I have a different one. Don't mean I'm right, but it also don't mean your right either. Sometimes YOU see what you want to see and  I do too.

I thought the refs did a decent job.  I agree that Curry travelled, but there were several things that happened that the refs either ignored or didn't see.  Lots of pulling, holding, etc...inside.  I agree the calls didn't affect the outcome.  Duke won fair and square and it was a game for the ages.
