Hats off to him!  He played probably his best game in Duke blue on the biggest stage.  The kid is special, but I just hope the guys in the lighter shade of blue remember his actions after the game.  Sprinting to the UNC student section shouting and rubbing it in doesn't help especially with possibly two more meetings between the two teams.  I would hope it's extra motivation for the kids.  If it's not, than these kids don't have much mojo or vegetables as Toby Keith refers to them in his song Red Solo Cup.

I don't like Rivers at all and I think he gives Duke a bad name with his attitude. I will say this though the guy is a big time player and he took it to us last night.  Without Rivers we blow them off the court because he is the only player for Duke that can take you off the dribble or shoot the three. Hopefully we find a way to contain him at Cameron or he will go off on us again. I can't see Duke staying with us next game even at Cameron because I don't think they hit 14 threes and get a tip in from us again. Go Heels !!!!!

I agree he played a great game.  It was nice to see him and barnes go back and forth.  Both players are clutch.

Austin Rivers does not have an attitude. He is a competitor, there is a difference.

I guess you could call it that but I have a bunch of Duke buddys and family memebers who don't like Rivers because of his attitude. ESPN first take just said that his attitude don't fit that of a normal Duke player. So I think attitude is the right word for Rivers. To me the guy looks like a spoiled brat who thinks he is better then the name on his jersey. Wow Skip just said he would bet that coack K hopes Rivers leaves after this year rather then stay in school. He is a great player and competitor with a pretty big ego and attitude in my opinion.

I do think he needs to work on his post game interviews.  It was really bad and wouldnt shock me if UNC gives him a hard foul next time they play.  I give him a pass because he is 19 years old.

Skip also thinks Tim Teebow is gods gift to football, PLEASE. Austin Rivers came from a high school where he was THE man. He has made his share of mistakes and needs to learn how to trust others. This is why he came to Duke, to become a better overall player.  Coach K knows what to do with his type. Hell, Austin didnt start a few games. He is a freshman that has tons learining to do, give him a break. You may see it as an attitude and ego, I see it as swagger. I wish more of our players had is competitive spirit.

Running to the student section and screaming and shouting? Dude, the kid just hit a game winning 3 pointer at the buzzer in a Duke-UNC rivalry. One where Duke was down at one point by 13 and even 10 with 2:30 left in the game. He was just riding an emotional high and was a little excited. If he didn't get excited then I would say you need to sit his happy crack on the bench. Every player for any given team hitting a 3 against their cross road rival will be ecstatic 15 times out of 10. If it was Barnes hitting the game winner at Cameron, you know he and the whole Carolina team would go ballz crazy.

There's a difference between going ballz crazy after hitting a winning shot and making a classless move.  I'm not debating the type player he is because I do feel he's a great young talent.  Duke will go as far as he can take them obviously, but there will be some disdain amongst teammates due to the manner in which he conducts himself.

Well look on the bright side... his draft stock just rose ridiculously high and we might not have to worry about him next year ;)

No Duke player, or fan for that matter, called Michael Snaer classless for celebrating and taunting the Crazies when he hit the game winner. Its apart of the game. Maybe it wasnt the right move but he is 19 and he just hit the BIGGEST shot in THE biggest rivalry in sports at the Dean Dome. If you guys want to use that as fuel for the next game, fair. BUT calling him classless, I respectfully disagree.

Anyone see the post game remarks by him.  He said pissed and the reporter was shocked.  LOL

Overall I agree he is only 19 years old.  If we dont want to see a classless act then we should of stopped him.  Its that easy.  Bullock played a great 2nd half agianst him.  Next time we play Bullock will cover him the whole game.  the 1st half barnes was on him and barnes is only about 75-80% with that ankle.

Rivers is an awesome player.  It's just too bad that we didn't recruit anybody this year that can play.

Hairston and McAdoo should be embarrassed at how pathetic they are.  How does Rivers come in as a FRESHMAN and dominate while fellow freshmen Hairston and McAdoo provide NOTHING??????????  Just how does that work?

Hairston and McAdoo combined on their best days aren't the player that Rivers is on his worst day.  I hope that Hairston and McAdoo go to the NBA or transfer so that we don't have to worry about them next year.  They are worthless.

Hate to break up the reggie bash but if you mic up college basketball game esp fierce rivalry games you will hear a lot of trash talk. Reggie wasn't the only one talking and yeah bullock offense hasn't been explosive he has played very good defense since he's started. Also Reggie didn't lose the game for UNC they lost as a team and if any blame you should point at zeller for missing free throws and bad defense. I dont think the River celebration was classless at young kids are gonna do what young kids do when their happy in a big game. Just remember not to say the same when UNC wins on senior night and they get hype on your court in front of your fans. Austin earn my respect but the rest of the duke team is seriously suspect.

Good grief.  It's one shot.   Please don't make this kid a basketball God for one shot.   It is really simple.   The two guys on our roster that can shut street ballers like Rivers down are out for the season with knee injuries.   What did he do against Miami?  Nothing.  Why?  They don't have injuries to their only quick guards.   Let him go to the NBA next year with daddy and sit and watch.   There are 4 of him on every team at the next level.  Unfortunately, due to injuries, UNC doesn't have anyone to match up with him.

You are highly overrating our 2 injured "stars" and their ability to shut down players like Rivers.

Even if they were that good at defense, is it absolutely impossible to get out and attempt to play defense behind the arc for the rest of our team?

Trash talk within the game is one thing, but running to opposing fans and taunting is another.  It's a matter of attempting to provoke a fight, but knowing one side is defensless unless they want to endure criminal charges.  You bring up Reggies talk at the McDonalds game, but you fail to mention it was a playful mock interview involving Kyrie and Harrison.  Not meant to be seen by the public.

We all know that Austin is a spoiled punk bi#$% that will not be missed once he leaves Duke by his own people.

I dont know about you but Bullock did a good job on Rivers.  I think rivers only scored like 6-8pts on him.  The rest was on Barnes and Zeller(last shot).  Rivers wasnt the same player in the 2nd half as he was in the 1st half.  Not saying Bullock shut him down but I think he did a good job.

Dont worry guys UNC will still win the ACC regular season title.
