One thing's for sure, Illinois sucks

Any Illinois fan who is upset with that title, had better be upset with Coach Bruce Weber for saying the same thing about Indiana just two seasons ago.

Speaking of Weber, man does he suck!  For years I've been saying how Weber is a bad developer of talent, a poor developer of men, a poor motivator, a poor PR spokesman and a poor coach.  For years many Illinois fans (most vocally gezemice) has been arguing loudly with me.  Usually I just pat her on her little head and move on, but today I feel like gloating.  Especially since she's been loudly vocalizing similar things about me.  Turns out I've been 100% right about Weber.  Maybe she finally sees it. 

Maybe Illinois fans finally see it.  I was right all along.  Weber sucks.  I hope dUI keeps him as coach forever.

I never said they were, just that I'd accept your bet that Kansas isn't better.  So how do we prove this?

Maybe we ask gezemice who's better and accept that her answer is the opposite of correct?

At what though?  gezemice calls me out by name all the time.  She's disagreed with everything I've said about Weber.  If she finally agrees like most every Illinois fan is starting to realize, I was right all along.

I like being right all along.  Especially when a poster has been vocally abusive to the opposite.

Do you have a source that proves Bruce Weber said Indiana sucked?  I am not saying you are a liar, but I find it shocking Weber would make such an unprofessional remark about another team.  No decent coach with any brains would make those kind of demeaning remarks about another team, especially within their own conference.  You never know when a team is going to become good enough to kick your butt.  Then again, if someone would be dumb enough to make an outlandish remark of this sort, it would be Bruce Scrubber, who is not half the coach Bill Self is contrary to what most of the idiot Illini fans think.

Weber said it at Big Ten Media Day.  He didn't shy away from his vocalization.

"The league should be wide open and we can be right in the middle of it. I do know one thing, though. I think Indiana will suck. Don't put that on the Internet."

Not only did he say that in front of every Big Ten media member, but he also said Alex Legion could be compared to Kobe Bryant.  The same Alex Legion who trasferred and called Weber "dream killer"

Because Weber is terrible with the PR aspect of the job.  Among many other aspects.

I can't imagine anyone begrudging IU fans a grudge against illini or purdoo fans.  None talked more trash during recent rough times, and none are more due the dose of medicine they've BOTH gotten in the past week.   

Congrats on the win Josh and Smith. It was an even game throughout the first 30 minutes or so. Then Indiana just took the game when it was time to do so. What have you guys done with NateO?

While it remains to be seen whether Legion is part of a turnaround for the Illini after their disastrous 2007-08 season, Weber had some interesting things to say about Legionduring a question-and-answer session with Illinois fans in Peoria:

"The players have nicknamed him 'Kobe.' He has a ways to go, but I understand the comparison. He can score, but he doesn't guard anybody and we just had to teach him a new word. Pass. When he gets his first assist, everybody should give him a standing ovation because that will be his first one."

Weber wasn't done there, though. He also got in a nice little shot at the program that was responsible for his biggest recruiting failure:

I live right in the heart of Illini territory, and I can tell you this.....U of I does in fact suck.  It's ridiculous

Weber CANNOT recruit the state like he needs to.  Chicago talent is POURING out of the state to places like UK, Duke, Kansas, Indiana, etc.

Weber couldn't even land Scheyer, and he played for Weber's BROTHER in high school!

Weber is gone, peace out homie.  You did well at the3 mid-major level, coaching mid-major talent, but you just can't handle major talent....it comes with major attitude and major expectations and it's just too much for Weber

Where it gets tricky for U of I....they need to keep Jerrance Howard on staff.  I don't know about his ability to be a head coach, but from what I hear, he's a great recruiter.  Obviously, he has strong ties in the Illinois recruiting circles, but he can also go out of state to get talent....something U of I has RARELY done except when Self was there
