The arrogance of guys like Lanny H, who seem to think you can only be a "real golf fan" if you hate Tiger Woods, is amazing and annoying. I've been playing and following golf for almost 40 years and I'm a fan of Tiger's. I was also a hugh Jack Nicklaus fan. And I certainly classify myself as a knowledgeable and "real" golf fan.

Hey TheRealFan. Mix in a period or a question mark bro. I realize a semicolon or a comma is out of your grasp, but trying to decipher your post was next to impossible.

I think the golf media -- the American golf media -- have become full-time water carriers for Woods.  They are desperately trying to sell the idea that players should "fear" Woods -- in an obvious attempt to bolster Woods' chances.

The youngsters increasingly think of Woods as the petulant bald guy about whom the spectators make risque jokes and giggle.

It is only one round of golf. The Woods boot lickers are a sad bunch. Can he still win tournaments? Sure, why not? The one thing he has lost is that fear factor that he once had. It happens to all great players eventually. There are too many players on tour now who have no fear of anyone.

Finally an objective article about Tiger from Elling. Just the facts, not opinion.

I think the golf media missed the boat and read it all wrong that all players feared Tiger.  When Tiger was dominating, his peers were mainly Els and Duval.  Neither could close the deal on Sunday, while Tiger stayed aggressive.  Others in the field that didn't fear him just wasn't good enough to beat him.

Too bad we can't watch him this week....Tiger and Phil on the same course and we get treated to three and a half hours of Kenny G interviews and a full break-down of Clay Walker's golf swing...c'mon Golf Channel.

My goodness, I nearly fell out my chair when I read this headline. Elling giving praise to Tiger? Yet another sign of the apocalypse.

Mark do you expect the Golf Channel to reposition the cameras to a different course everyday.

I have no idea who Clay Walker is, but, based upon your comment, he must be the guy I kept wondering why the GC was showing him all afternoon.  Chris Berman got more than his fair share of TV time, too.

The Tiger lovers are a little quiet tonight.  Neither they nor their man intimidate anyone.

Clergy, that has to be one of the stupidest posts out here. Just another Tiger hater who continues to post about him anyway - if you really detest the guy, then don't read about him. As far as the other golfers, most of them know who made them rich, it'd be best you remember that too.

Would love to stop reading about the irrelevant dirtbag.

Sadly, almost every golf story online is erroneously made to be about Tiger.

Tiger is a loser...and who freakin' cares about the purse money anyway!
