Gasol, Lakers survive Celtics in overtime

Great game......kudos to Pau for the block. Celts need a consistent solution in the middle. O'Neal and Wilcox...46 minutes 4 pts......NOT GOOD.

your GM traded away their center who's ruling the paint for Okie....guess Stimsa won't be starting anytime soon.  Geez, even your former PF Troy Murphy had as many boards as both of these two combined.

One championship in the last 25 years. I think the Lakers have a greater chance of improving their roster than Boston does. And given the Lakers' GMs and the moves they make to keep a contender on the floor says a lot. Fact is, the Lakers beat the Celtics (on their home floor for the 4th straight time!) because they are a better team and have been for quite some time now. Lakers have a winning (championships) organization. Boston doesn't.

I definitely agree that the Sixers can take you out too.

Nobody shoud be wanting to face the Sixers. Not only would they beat us, but they would eliminate your Lakers too. Of course, that won't be much of an accomplishment this season. They play like crap!

I've watched the Sixers and they're good! I also follow the Pacers rather close because I root for Larry Bird (Pacers President).  Bird has silenced the critics by putting together a young, deep, talented team on the small market. They're dealing with a few key injuries at the moment (G. Hill) but they're going to be tough to beat come playoff time. Vogel is proving to be a good coach & Paul George is looking good. They just need to dump Granger because he can't shoot anymore.

I think the Lakers have a greater chance of improving their roster than Boston does

Make no mistake, I definitely think the Lakers will have an eaiser time rebuilding. However, Howard recently said he wouldn't be opposed to listening to the Celtics

Lakers have a winning (championships) organization. Boston doesn't.

Garnett took a season high 23 shots...LOL... Bad idea. Here's a better one: retire. You're a POS trash talking a-hole, and you suck.

I see that the Celtic fans are out in droves coming up with every excuse known to man kind as to why they lost the game last night. It happens, the Lakers like beating you on your home court, and I enjoy watching them. Oh such joy. Now you are saying the Celtics are going to the playoffs. There is no doubt in my mind that the Celtics would be in the NBA playoffs. At least for the first round. I an see at least 3-4 teams that might kick them right out. Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York. The Lakers with their roster is able to compete in the West and have a fighting chance with Bynum, Pau and Kobe. If some of the others play to potential, we would go further than the Celtics would go this season. The Lakers Gm is know for putting a competitive product on the court. I am not sure about the GM of the Celtics. His last few trades and acquisitions have been questionable. “ONE MAN’S OPINION”

New York is horrible and Orlando isn't very good either. Atlanta is a decent team but inconsistent as usual The Bulls, Miami, Sixers and the Pacers are teams that could give the Celtics problems.

The Lakers with their roster is able to compete in the West and have a fighting chance with Bynum,

The Lakers don't have the bench to go anywhere.

If some of the others play to potential

LMAO...like who? Goodie two-shoes Derek Fisher? Or "starved for attention" Meta World Peace hahaha?

Haha, The Lakers GM just got rid of the best 6th man in the league.

His last few trades and acquisitions have been questionable

Ainge is the type of person who doesn't have patience. He'll be looking to make big moves. We're going to find out how smart Ainge is soon. He needs to clean house rather than hang on to these players because their time is up.

Less than halfway into season they're not so there is still lots of games left for improvement/changes.  I'm always holding out hope for them.

Haha, The Lakers GM just got rid of the best 6th man in the league.

We'll see how they'll use the funds before the deadline, not over yet and LO is not burning them up in Dallas either

LMAO...WE HAVE MORE TITLES THAN YOU PRETTY BOY. Go put on your purple skirt.

So you figure that having more titles(mostly won in the '60's by the way) qualifies organization as the best??  How about being relevant and winning more than once in last 25 years when competition, FA, and greater talent makes it harder to do so than when Red was running the league 50 years ago?

Livin in the past is what you're doin so enjoy the historical perspective as the Lakers will surpass them soon enough in rings then what?

Allen & Garnett were never Celtics to begin with! They won nothing, they were nothing until Boston made them!

Livin in the past is what you're doin so enjoy the historical perspective

4 years ago is hardly historical.

greater talent makes it harder to do so than when Red was running the league 50 years ago?

Greater talent? Really? I don't know about that. You guys talk about these great athletes but I don't think they're as fundamentally sound as the past decades. Go ahead and answer the following comparisons honestly. I will be using the some of the best talent available today....

Carmello Anthony or Elgin Baylor? Wilt Chamberlain or Dwight Howard? D.Wade or Jerry West? Bill Russell or Pau Gasol? LeBron James or Oscar? Who would you rather have running your point Derek Williams or Bob Cousy?

Schools out LakersUSCbam. I hope you learned something!

i have to say Crunch--Time brings up a fairly good argument. athletically you go with the latter in just about every case, but if you want fundamentals you go with the former. and the Heat last season proved that mad athleticism alone doesn't win trophies. so there ya go...
