LOCK THREAD CONCEPT -

This thread has been created for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this!!! If you have an area of expertise - Pac-10, NBA, Soccer, MLB, Big East, NHL, etc. - please make some LOCK choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "LOCK". The difference between a PICK and a LOCK is that a PICK is a game you like, a LOCK is a game that you KNOW. We are here to help each other win. If you are claiming your choice is a LOCK, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING -

We take it upon ourselves to donate our time and track everybody's LOCK every day, as long as you agree to do your part by doing a few simple things. We will not track your LOCKs if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, we won't be putting your LOCK on the spreadsheet.

- Post only 1 LOCK per day.  You may post a MAXIMUM of 4 LOCKS per week.  A week starts on Monday, and ends on Sunday.  Choose NCAA, NBA, NFL, or NHL.  You do not have to stay in one sport.  Spread them around if you like.

- No "buying" points for LOCKS.

- We want the LOCKS posted early enough so we can all benefit . If the LOCK is not posted within 30 minutes of the scheduled CBS start time the LOCK will not count.

- No other "line-manipulations: like teasers, etc

- First half or mini lines are OK.  No second half or quarter lines. Time constraints make second half lines too tough to track.   

- No parlays. Period.

- Props are OK as long as you give a site where we can check the line.

- Hockey, baseball, and soccer plays need to be -129 or better.  No HUGE favorites for LOCKS.  Anything -130 and over, take the -1.5 goals or runs if you feel like it is still a LOCK.

- Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the LOCK doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

- LOCKs MUST be posted 30 minutes before the time CBS says the game is set to go off, anything less than 30 minutes the LOCK will not count.

And, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an original explanation as to why you KNOW this LOCK will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. And if you are going to try and fool us by cutting and pasting from another website, at least figure out how to remove all the HTML and other garbage. People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation. They are stats that any of us can get anywhere on the internet. Also, how about if you have actually SEEN the team play that you pick. I'd say that if you haven't seen a team play at least a few times, you can't really be an expert on the said team.

Very unimpressive day, 1-1-1 on write-up plays. Youngstown state was a god-awful pick. Utah/Ariz.St played out pretty much how I saw it, and Portland/Loyola Mary landed right on 138. Did when some money tailing Vegas W.K.U. over, thank you for that write-up. Will strive to do better.

Good Morning Everyone!

I won my Lock yesterday but it was more of a Houdini act then the right call on my part. I find it amuing that when I win a game that I should have lost, I only remember how I won for a few days but can vividly remember every bad beat that I've had over my lifetime and still hate most of the players/teams that caused them to this day! Anyways I went 1-0 yesterday which brings my posted play record to 53-49 (2 Unit plays) and 5-1 (Locks, 5 Unit Plays). This week so far I am 3-6 (2 Unit) and 1-0 (5 Unit) respectively. I'll probably be in tail mode because I couldn't pick my nose if I tried on black Friday's and just gear up for Saturday.

Good morning gentlemen,

    We are lining up for an epic IVY league basketball game tonight.  25th ranked Harvard plays on the road against the Penn Quakers.  My love for the the Quakers continues tonight as I am taking them getting 5 points at home.

    Pennsylvania has covered five out of their last six games...you might remember the last time they didn't cover, it was last Friday when I had them LOCKED against Yale.  Unfortunately, shooting woes and a strong showing of the home team doomed that pick.  The reason I like them to pull the upset tonight is because of the fact they're playing at home.  Their last two games have been on the road where they scored 65 against Brown and 53 against Yale, (if you didn't believe me about the poor shooting against Yale, this was the lowest total of the year for the Quakers...they even scored 55 against Duke in Cameron).  Their two games prior they played Princeton and St. Joe's at home.  They scored 82 and 84 respectively.

    I know some of you may not pull the trigger on this one because of last week's failed LOCK against Yale, but I firmly believe that the Quakers will make a run to win this one outright.  Even if Harvard pulls out to a lead, you have to remember that this is the Quakers backyard...they shoot the lights out at home and I don't see them ever being out of this game.  I am going to throw a bit on Penn's moneyline, but the play of the night is taking the points.

I know loyola md is at home and has practically the same record as Iona but  this Iona team with glover machado and jones are the best the maac and has beaten  Maryland richmond  fairfield manhattan and denver ( a place no one wins)  and also has already beaten loyola (md)  by 11 at home earlier in the season.  Iona is on a mission and will gut this sucka out tonight.


CORNELL -3

Yale is 15-5 and cornell is 8-12 and cornell is a 3 pt fav. Ill back cornell here.


DETRIOT -5.5

I hope nail concurs with this play. Det has won 4 in a row at home including double digit victories against butler and wright st. and now gets a chance to take revenge on wis mil who beat them by 10 earlier in the season.

Why is this line only 3.5? No carmelo and no amare and the knicks are only 3.5! Hmmm  interesting.  Knicks are 100 percent better defensively without carmelo and amare. Jeffries is a great defensive player and will frustrate Gasol and will at times been on kobe as well. Bynum and chandler is a wash and fields will due a decent job on kobe. I believe lin wears out lakers guards tonight. Plus last night  bynum kobe and gasol played 40 plus mins last night and the knicks will run penetrate and drive tonight. Its funny its been more fun watching the knicks the last 3 games then all season with melo and amare.

OKC -1.5

Utah tough at home but i dont see okc losing 2 in a row. They have young legs and should be ok here.
