15 million for Luck and 35 million for Peyton? I think you are on drugs. Those are not per year numbers.... What is the Rookie cap for pick 1? 5 million a year to start? whatever Cam got. And Peyton was around 15 million. So stop exaggerating

Hey, the Pats had what amounted to an All-Pro, go to, deep threat up until Gronkowski's ankle was injured in the AFC Championship. It's not as if Bob Hayes (or Randy Moss) dressed for the Giants last Sunday. The G-men played SHUT DOWN D against New England. And NY had, I believe, only one completion over 20 yards. Sounds like excuse making to me. Adding big name guys to your roster, even All-Pros, doesn't guarantee you the Lombardi Trophy, just ask the Eagles.

Pats added Ochocinco and Haynesworth during the offseason to help them on both sides of the ball. Those horrible decisions and the lack of cheating are the prinicipal reasons the Pats couldn't bring home the Lombardi Trophy for the fifth straight year post-Spygate. Considering Brady is in his prime and Belichick is still coaching, it's just further proof that the Pats are the Sports Fraud of the Century.

The Pats need of a WR, pass rusher, improved secondary, and maybe bolster the linebacking corps isn't news to anyone except the Patriots. Belichick is a phenomenal coach, but he has put himself in the position he is in by getting rid of Richard Seymour, Brandon Merriweather, bringing in Haynesworth and Chad Johnson, and making draft picks the team didn't need, such as Nate Solder--who has been very good, but wasn't a need in last years draft--and Ras I Dowling. I think Belichick's problem is that he is too cocky in his coaching. He believes anyone can fit his system, he can bring out the best in players--which he can for the most part--and they will just coast along.
It is embarrassing that analysts look at his choices to play Julian Edelman on defense as some sort of stroke of genius. It isn't. It is pure desperation from a coach wondering what he can do to jolt his team. It didn't make sense when he did the same thing with Troy Brown several years ago, and it makes even less sense now with Edelman.
Each year the Patriots stockpile draft picks instead of actually using them. They trade, trade, trade, but don't have much to show for it. My friend has been saying this for months, that NE should trade several of their picks up to the top 5 and draft Justin Blackmon. If they don't take him, maybe Morris Claiborne. Now reports are saying they could consider that.
NE isn't an entire team away from winning another Super Bowl, they really are only a couple of pieces away from being back on top again, but they did skate by this year because of the incredibly awful teams in the league this year. The AFC was a disaster and New England--at least to me--got to the Super Bowl by default, because there were no other very good teams in the AFC. If they played in the NFC, it would have been tough for me to see them getting past their first game.

I love all the Patriot haters year after year they produce and win the East every 4 years or so there in the Super Bowl and all this cheating talk always comes up again. 10 years down the road we will still be hearing this story am i missing something or is this spygate story investigation still going on. The patriots are 5-1 favorites next year and with 4 picks in the first 2 rounds in the draft i don't see how there not in the mix again. Hats off to the G-men they made the plays and deserve it. As for the Jets fans you still are not good enough to carry the Patriots Jockstrap. I'm going to sit back and wait till Buddy makes his predictions and then have another good laugh.

It would be nice if someone other than Belichick couild make the picks though. Our man has blew many, many picks over the last few years. We need Blackmon and we need to pay whatever it costs to get him. Will we? I doubt it. Belichick has to prove he can do it his way and therefore he will fuck**** up these picks. You little Patriot honks can toss his sald all you want but they got that game through Tebow and Flacco. It's NEVER going to be easier. Although, they did get handed yet ANOTHER cupcake schedule. Myra must have knobbed a few NFL execs before things got bad...OUCH

every team in the nfl acknowledges doing the same type "cheating" the Patriots did. it was and more than likely still is, standard operating procedure. spygate is such a non story and in it's wake, the patriots continue to be the winningest team in the league. there seems to a whole lot of hypocritical hating going on. don't hate us just because we are the best in the business :)

The Patriots didn't lose the superbowl because of Tom Brady and the offense. They lost the superbowl because their defense couldn't stop the Giants from driving down the field and scoring with 3 minutes left in the game.

The Patriots have had several draft busts in the secondary as well as some unfortunate injuries. The Patriots could use one more solid pass rusher up front, but I find the Patriots front seven to be very strong. The secondary is the problem. We can't cover anyone man up. The pass rush can't get there every time. It's just not going to happen.
That being said, the Patriots have had plenty of draft success in the last few years with picks like Jerrod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, Sebastian Volmer, Nate Solder,

i trust the patriots learned a valuable lesson this season...namely, that you don't trust your receiving corps hopes
to ocho cinco. what a monumental waste of money! you'd think their "astute football talent assessment" would have
told them that this guy hasn't got the heart to be a champion. he didn't fit in with the team at all. hopefully, for their
sake, they got the message.
