Frivolous case. Go after Fine if you can, but this case is absurd and should be dismissed summarily. I hope the school doesn't cave in and settle for even a dime.

Actually, WillStL, I'm a double SU grad and I thought your comment was worth a couple of giggles. More importantly, you express what is completely true about this case -- Allred's muck is completely irrelevant, as you say. As the judge ruled. If Allred had a reputation, she'd be hurting herself. But just about anyone who knows anything about her knows that she's just an ambulance chaser.

I can understand the idea that Mrs Fine having sex with the players might show the Fine family to be incredibly sick and perverse, but we all know her having sex with of age athletes has absolutely nothing to do with Bernie having sex with underage ball boys. It simply does not matter, the claim that IF she did (and that is so very preposterous in it's own regard) then Boeheim "should have known about it" is just as outlandish. They must prove he knew, not "he should have known" ...I have no idea what my assistant here at work does in her free time, why is Jimbo supposed to know all?

What I'm waiting for is the article where a media person apologizes to Boeheim for calling for his head. The more I see of this case, the more Boeheim looks like he was right after all. Let me guess, the accusers want to settle this slander suit with money. I think I'll never see that apology article, though.

This certainly looks like the end. It doesn't look like there will be any extortion money for Allred and those two men. I commend this very intelligent judge.

Yes, the attorney is grasping at straws here, but that does nothing to exonerate Boeheim. The attorney is trying to prove that Jimmy lied, and they're trying to keep the case out of Onandoga County. And, guess what? Their actions are consistent with their goals! Ok, fine, if that makes them scum-sucking lawyers in your mind, so be it (but what other kind of lawyers are there?).

More irony...by Boeheim standing up for his long time assistant so vehemently it appears as though he had no earthy idea that Fine was (allegedly) a scum bag...so, while Boeheim may have defamed the accusor's character, he ultimately looks much, much better that Joe Pa did.
