wonder how much they are going to pay burnett to pitch in pittsburgh...i think it will be a good move for both teams with the potential to be great for pitt.
.................
They tried to get Pitt to pay 1/2 of the $33M. Naturally, they hung up.
Then I read they asked Pitt to pay $11M of it. Still no.
Now I think they're in the $9-$10M range, which ought to be enough to get Damon, and leave a little money under their budget.
getting the exact reaction I was anticipating > >> >> nuthin
This reaction is because you made a statement that made no sense at all. He wasn't talking about me being bitter, it was one i made to him about being an eagles fan.
With Pedrioa, Lincecum and Votto as my regular keepers along with Josh Johnson, Doug Fister as my other 2, i'm left to choose between Beckett, Michael Young, Billy Butler as my top choices for that final spot. I just don't know how i don't go with Beckett when pitching is so important.
..........
If you just knew you'd get a full season from Johnson it would be an easier decision, but alas............

I think that is good for both sides...burnett has no value to the Yankees anymore...now pitt has a guy with playoff experience and something to prove in what is probably the worst division in baseball. If he pitches well he could give them some trade value at the deadline...and other teams will be more interested with only having to worry about paying what is left of the 0-10M the Pirates owe over a year and a half.
