Two 5 star recruits visit SU 11 Feb

Two high speed recruits visit SU this weekend, both 5 star and will watch the cuse take on UConn.  Both these young men are instant starters and will impact any team they decide to go with.

Tyler Ennis is a guard with great skills and supposed to come as one of the best decision makers in high school today.

Nerlen Noels just reclassified from the 2013 to the 2012 class and immediately became the number one recruit for the 2012 class.  Now that is special.  Some say he is a Bill Russell type and the best shot blocker in high school.  They think this young man is a type of player who will carry a team to the Final Four.  An advantage for the Cuse is Nerlen Noels is good friends with Michael Carter Williams and has stated he would love playing along side MCW next year.  A distracter is Melo and having to share PT. 

Both recruits are on everyone's radar and are getting calls and offers from UK, UNC, MI St as well as SU and many other schools.  Who thinks their school has the inside track?  Coming to the Dome during a UConn game will bring out some crazy SU fans and should be an electric visit with 25K + in attendance.

Noels/Ennis

I have a hard time believing that Syracuse can land Noel when they already have Coleman signed. They both play the same position. Most analysts already have Noel being a Kentucky lean, especially with Davis all but guaranteed to be the #1 NBA pick this year, and knowing that Willie Cauley will be a UK prospect for at least another year. If, Syracuse does somehow land Noel, good Lord, watch out.

I think every top tier school's fan base believes these kids are "theirs". I haven't heard much about the Ennis kid but Noels has been the talk of the town since he reclassified. This is from memory so it may not be 100% accurate but I heard Calipari and his AAU coach go way back for whatever that's worth. I also heard in an interview that he said UK's style of play would fit his game perfectly.

But kids are kids, and kids change their minds all the time, see Terence Jones (Washington, no wait I meant UK).

I think whoever ends up with Noels has a stud on there hands. Reclassify and then jump Shebazz to the top spot says it all. Here's hoping he ends up in UK blue!!!

smithfan...your echoing what all the smart people are saying.  SU has Coleman, but SU can always find room for another big man heading to the Final Four and there is no better way to get there than having Noels, Christmans and Coleman.  My hope for Noels comes with him being friends with MCW.  That sometimes works. 

Good post though.  Makes sense he gives UK a very hard look.  Almost everyone has him in UK's camp. 

hoping he picks UK.  and like someone already mentioned that would be a logical choice with Davis already having one foot out the door, but who knows???

Syracuse or Uk would be great choices for the kid..  Great Programs, with Great FAns, Great Facilites,  Tons of exposure (most every game on ESPN,) etc. etc.   

The thing i have a hard time figuring is how NC State has three recuruits on the Mcdonalds all american team.  How many times have any of you guys actually sat and watched a NC State game this year (okay i watched the State vs. IU game.)  I just don't see it, unless these kids were lifelong fans of the school, or maybe their parents played there??   i haven't researched the matter that much, just was surprised to see that of all the McD All-Americans, NC STate had the most signees....

Cats....every few years or so, NC St picks up some talent.  I don't know if they are homer's or is it they were passed over by UNC and Duke and they want to play against the teams that snubbed them.  What ever it is, the get a decent class every so often.

I can't find the quote I read of his the other day, but just the wording gave me a lot of doubt that he was seriously considering UK. It gave me the impression that yes he was looking at Kentucky but was clear they weren't in the top choices of schools. Maybe Cal can work some magic on him :)

Those two got a show with 33K+ in the dome.  Lots of crazy fans.  Lots of Orange and SU hangs 85 on UConn.  Good game Cuse.

Great blog jonvi......can't wait to see where these 2 kids end up. landing either one would be special, but signing Ennis would be huge !!

About the whole Syracuse already having Coleman....

I remember most people saying that NO WAY would John Wall and Eric Bledsoe both play at the same college, because Bledsoe wouldn't get enough minutes behind Wall

I know what you mean, I made a comment about Jimmy B and his epic fails in the tourney and made me sit with Bernie Fine..........I was VERY uncomfortable...then I realized I was to old for him.
