Time for SEC to concede...PAC 12 rules!!!

February 10, 2012 6:11 pm

Well the recruits tell the tale...a seismic shift has taken place with the addition of high profile coaches into the PAC 12...Mora, Leach and Rich Rod.  Stanford's recruiting class a clear top 10 and USC's Quality despite limitations suggests that 2012 will be the year that the SEC is supplanted by the PAC 12 in depth of talent.  FACT-  Both USC and Oregon will clearly be pre-season TOP 10, with likely TOP 25 in Stanford and Washington.  Teams to watch will be UCLA if they find a consistent offense!

Phil Steele (see www.PhilSteele.com) has evaluated either LSU or Alabama as AP preseason #1, but suggests that the TROJANS have the best shot at getting to the BCS N/C game (USC v. Oregon is at Coliseum in 2012) and PAC 12 Championship game is at the stadium of the team with the best record!  This sets up a rematch of maybe a #1 and #5!!!

So with USC BACK in the bowl picture, why not a N/C game against the best of the SEC???

TrojanLuver1, well, if we aren't ahead of the SEC, we sure look like we'rs slipstreaming right on their bumpers.LOL.

Frankly, I don't mind ceding them the pole for now, but we are front row on this on for sure. Will somebody please cancel the next 6 months???

SoCal is great but then????? The PAC can't hang with the SEC. if I were a Trojan fan I'd use the "my team" instead of conference debate because you guys ARE the PAC. Lol

mimic, you have to admit Oregon is showing consistency the last few years. Stanford had a huge recruit class and should make up for the loss of Luck by an improved defense to some degree.

It doesn't make the Pac better than the SEC by any means, but we need same good ol healthy trash talk to pass these next six months......

The only tale the recruits tell is that USC, Oregon and Stanford are the only teams in the PAC 12 that can recruit now-it's no better in the big 10 either.

Thanks for making me crack up Trojan...I think ther PAC made some good hires but the only seismic shift taking place is in the earth's crust in PAC 12 country.

Haha np nwtrucker! You're right but if we're just having fun talkin trash then why can't I and others join in the fun? It's all good and I do agree with you that Oregon is making progress but they are far from elite IMO. But thank you for being cool and just letting me know what's going on so I'll settle down my friend haha

Trojanluver....you got to be kidding me!......Pac10........2012 polls will show 4 SEC teams in the top 10, no other conference will have that many or even close to it!...how do you in your delusional mind think that?

If USC is gonna win it they better do it this year before those scholarship reductions take their toll. This year they will be fine but the next 2-5 years will be rough as they recover from the limitations. They won't go away completely but 6-9 wins a year is what you can expect. Sorry Trojan fans. It's gonna happen.

crimson77, hmmm. You might be a bit off on that. They signed 12 after a monster last season, lots of red-shirts. That's 18 next season if they use the three for earoly starts. The Trojans usually only use 18 or so a year...

Losing Barkley will drop us a bit as well.

This year is an all-in....

Since 2002 USC has recruited 22,30,19,16,24,18,19,18,20 and 30 yet still mananged to field some pretty dang good teams.  These sanctions will do nothing.  USC will once again dominate the Pac 12. They might not get the full number that other teams do, but be sure they will get the best recruits High schools have to offer.  Quality over quantity.

Before everyone goes off all half cocked like I did think about it. The OP is a great poster and doesn't talk trash. Another poster in here (nwtrucker) is as nice as they come. It's obviously a joke to mock the sec and big ten crap that's always going on here. If you post without bias and hatred for 5 minutes you'd see that SoCal is as good as they are claiming and its a hell of a lot better than the sec hatred crap everyone here spews constantly

Washington has the #24 class and landed the #5 player in the nation.  He's a RB/Safety, but his future both in college and the NFL someday will be safety.  We gave up way too many plays over the top last year and this will be a huge help.  We also landed 2 really good QB's but the thing I like most is we got some linemen both OL and DL.  We were in bigtime need there.  Did get a bunch of RB and WR/TE but that's where were already loaded.  For once we got a class that fits our needs as the first two years we recruited best talent we could get regrdless of position which lead to an overload at some positions but a serious lack at others.

I like the way Washington is shaping up.  It's good to be on the way back and well on the way at that.

Alabama's class outpaced USC's by miles.

And it doesn't matter... USC will have to rely on out-talenting other teams so long as Lane is their coach.  That won't work out so well in bowl games.

So when USC is playing with 55 at best scholarship players on the team and everyone else is at 85 you really think that won't impact them. Keep dreaming. They won't lose ten games or anything but they won't be winning titles for at least 4-6 years after this season. They could possibly sneak one in this year before the limits start to hurt.
