Shocking. You think you know people and then oh, I don't know, 12 kids accuse you of molesting them along with a coworker and now nobody trusts you? The nerve of some people.

People are so fickle, they find out you've been porking little boys and they turn on you. How dare they? It's not like he strangled any of them and buried them on the PSU campus...that we know of.

Why is this on a sports website? I keep asking this question. This is not a sports story anymore, so turn it over to the feature section where it belongs.

This entire thing reminds me of my old neighborhood in the 50's and early 60's. If you wanted to get someone beaten up, all you had to do was tell everyone else that he was a "window-peeper." Whether or not there was any proof or the person actually ever peeped in a window was irrelevant. Molesting children is disgusting, but why not allow due process to run its course? We're no better than Libya if we don't.

3 Common Traits that profile a pedophile: A) harsh judgmentalism towards anyone/anything; B) a pervasive denial of responsibility and most complex of all C) extreme deceitfulness. Jerry is just fulfilling the role of a guilty perv. This time the glove will in fact, fit. And the real crime here will be if the jury does acquit. License/copyright go to Johnny Cochran for that one.

Stuz and BayouTiger, as long as this man was involved with the athletics of a prestigious football program, and not to mention the fact that there was a time when some (hence some) people thought that he would replace the now tarnished legend JoePA, this story is going to be all over this website. But both of you bring up an interesting point nevertheless. I've heard rumors that the NCAA committee is considering punishing the football program. As far as I'm concerned, this incident--while heinous and not to mention beyond sick--is not a reason to slap on the "Death Penalty." If the rumors are true, I think the NCAA should get off their moral high horse and let the law handle this. The NCAA should at least admire the athletes and new coaching staff that are brave enough to represent this shamed program.

Gee, he's charged with 52 counts against 10 separate victims and he wonders why "people turned" on him? Knock me over with a feather. I still don't understand why his bail wasn't revoked. It would be for anyone else accused of such heinous crimes. But then again, I'm not a lawyer and I don't cheer for PSU.

Teres Minor you are correct, Gerry should be considered innocent until proven guilty 52 times by 10 different accusers. One thing in his favour is his lawyer says most accused pedophoiles have many more accusers / charges so this might go the way of a small fine and a couple hours of community service down to the YMCA.

Did PSU take away his passes to the President's box yet at Beaver Stadium or does Jerry get to keep those?

If there was one isolated charge you might be able to say he's innocent until proven guilty. He's got 52 charges against him from 10 different victims. I don't think you have to be a judge or a lawyer to know this guy is guilty of at least some of those 52. I can't believe that he's not sitting in jail now. The way the court system works is if you have money and can afford lawyers you can get away with things. I don't understand it. I mean this came out like 6 months ago. This should already be at trial. There was a woman from around here who hit and killed a kid while under the influence. It happened about 4 years ago and she finally got convicted and sentenced this past summer. The court system isn't fair. It's not about justice its about money and the stupid games these lawyers can play. This guy needs to be locked up. I have to believe if he were in jail he'd probably already be dead.
