Sandusky feels people have turned on him after ...

His safest place is at state college or in the presidents box at beaver stadium. But his enabler, Joepa can no longer protect him, as he has for past 20 years.

Innocence until proven guilty is nice and legally correct but if I had a kid within 100 miles of this guy I'd shoot first, ask questions later. I can understand why people want to keep him inside the house and not on the back deck. I have no idea what he is doing on his deck but would you want him possibly learing at your kid, I would not. the fact he is so close to a school in my book makes a difference. One part of the article I did not understand was the child said he was "State investigator Anthony Sassano testified that children had noticed Sandusky from their classroom, and that his presence was disrupting school activities". Why would he be on his deck so long in the winter. It is cold in Pennsylvania and if I was him, the last thing I'd be doing is putting myself in a situation where I could be accused of learing at children even if he was not. In my book, it would be like an alcholic hanging around a bar. It just does not seem like a very bright thing to do? Maybe I am over-sensitive, I do not know. How far can you go to protect children, in my mind and I think most parents would agree, as far as you can.

Perhaps all you quick to judge posters would prefer we just burn the Constitution and proceed to vigilante justice. I don't know which is worse, Sandusky or you people trying to deny him his rights. Bristle with all the disgust you can muster, but let the legal process work. It is works correctly 99.99% of the time.

Smorgie....do you live in a dream world?  Those that I find with the most ignorance are those that throw around the Constitution as if it were an old baseball.  The Constitution has no bearing on what private individuals think about a situation.  We can condemn Sandusky with impunity if we elect to do so.  Unfortunately, the Constitution protects alleged criminals far more than it does alleged victims.  This trial is going to be all about the victims....not the defendant.  They will be dragged through the mud over and back before this circus ends.  If you truly believe the justice system works 99.99% of the time you have obviously never seen it up close and personal.  Far more criminals are spared from justice than are innocents unjustly convicted.

yeah. lets burn it. lets burn that m*ther**cker up. We don't need the 1st amendement ..... ya know of freedom of speech. Lets give everyone on the cbssports messege boards a badge and a gun while where at it.

I know you were thinking about innocent until proven guilty, but our constitution also gives us the right to get on here and say what ever we damn well please as long as it's not slander. Unfortunately criminal charges of butt raping little boys kinda waives his argument about slander.

Memphis Murder is a dolt

I feel sorry for you Memphis.  You think you can pick and choose which rights are sacred when they all are sacred.  If you go back and read my post you will see that I encouraged all the disgust you could muster, just don't convict him before his day in court.  You can excercise all the freedom of speech you want.  You can utilize any one or all of your constitutional rights but that includes Mr. Sandusky's right to a fair trail among a jury of his peers.  After such a case, if found guilty, give him the penalties accorded by the law.

Far more criminals are spared from justice than are innocents unjustly convicted.   Really?  That is perhaps the most ignorant statement I have read today.  In a typical police investigation multiple people are interviewed or questioned.  The vast majority of these people are deemed to be innocent and eliminated from the investigation.  It is the rare occasion an innocent person is falsely convicted.  It does happen, true, but innocent or guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by its very wording allows some doubt.

I suppose you want a perfect judicial system, well let me know when you have it designed and I will put you up for a Nobel Peace prize personally.  But then again you'd rather just bitch about the trivialities of my words rather than admit the current system with all its flaws is perhaps the best criminal justice system in the world, where individual rights actually have meaning.  Perhaps you should go to Mexico and evaluate their system?

Hey Memphis Murd,

One more thing, comrade.  This little lady emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1986 when I was 9 years old with my parents.  You want to talk about fair criminal justice systems?  You have no idea.  And for that you should be ashamed. Americans have no idea what they take for granted.

In the USSR Mr. Sandusky would likely have just disappeared or if he was of some power of office or influence he would have kept on doing what ever crimes the state of Pennsylvania has charged him with. And there would have been not one word spoken either way.

Good luck comrade.  I hope you never have to find out what it means to have no rights at all.

Are there any Christians, or Catholics who believe Joe Paterno is burning in hell for eternity for enabling a pedophile? I don't believe that stuff myself and I won't tell you what to believe, but I am interested in what you believe. If Joe did enable Sandusky, but asked for forgivness on his deathbed, are the horrific sins he committed forgiven?

Yes.  He wouldn't even have to ask for forgiveness on his death bed.

God already knew what went down.  He wasn't "tricked."

God tested Joe.  He didn't pass that particular test.   Oh well.  Got doesn't really get surprised either.  He knew Joe was more about the wins, all time record, and the team, and the school, than doing the right thing.

But all Christians/Catholics are sinners.  We wouldn't make it into Heaven, but for Jesus coming and paying the price for us, by dying on the cross.

So it doesn't really matter that Joe screwed up and kids were hurt.  All sins are forgiven save one- Not believing in God and accepting Jesus as your personal savior. That's the only thing that cannot, will not be forgiven.

We rank sins.  God doesn't.  If you lie or hate somebody or lust for some chick, that's just as bad as murder as far as God is concerned.

That's why he sent Jesus to save us.  Or we would all fail.

If Paterno believed in God and accepted Jesus- then he goes to Heaven for sure.  The Bible says Jesus will not let go of you if you do accept him.
