In this article, Elling mentioned "Woods" 22 times and he used the word "he" when referencing Woods another 28 times. Elling mentions Woods as frequently as Ann Coulter mentions liberals.
Dickens got paid by the word; Elling must get paid by the "Woods."
The only possible improvement I could suggest would be to search and replace all references to "Woods" with "our Tiger." Look how much better the article would read:
Though, the way our Tiger is walking, talking and stalking, it's like he never went away in the first place. Asked if he was surprised at how quickly it's come together over recent weeks, our Tiger looked his inquisitor in the eye and never blinked.

Recent weeks should show you that leading on Sunday morning and holding that lead through the afternoon isn't as easy as it sounds. Tiger is a great front runner because he knows how to close out tournaments. All the Tiger bashing cracks me up. Everybody hates the guy...all he did was bang a few chicks. Shouldn't have affected anyone but his family. He still has 3 times as many majors and double the PGA wins as any current player. At 35 he's not done...not even close.

diopez711. You should have researched the series of comment made by me before posting your retorts. You've made the same mistake as I. . . . Even one with a keen bent for logic is hampered when facts are not properly amassed. You ought to remember that.

Obituary was premature. He may never be back to himself at his best (who can be?), but I expect his name to be in the mix with the top golfers. That happening will make so many people angry, and I kind of like that part.

Why would people getting angry make you happy?
For me, the issue is not whether the guy wins or losses, but that the media is covering the sport like a one-man reality show. That's fine for people who don't like golf, where watching Woods is a diversion for them while waiting for next episode of American Idol to come on. But to anyone who thinks golf is more appealing than standard television fluff, it's annoying to see the Jerry Springerization of golf. Dumbing it down for the masses. We used to get playing tips during the broadcasts, but no more; now we are told twenty times a broadcast that it's best to be below the hole.

I agree with Big-Poppa. There is a lot to like about many top young players right now (are they the sensation Tiger was, heck no!). Rory, Bubba, Dustin; they all have Tiger's power. There were plenty of us golf fans before Tiger emerged. Golf is a great, highly competitive sport and always has been. The MEDIA just wants to act like the sport is on "Hold" until Tiger regains his old form, which most likely will never happened. Being pounded over the head about "he's back" when Tiger is 6 back, 4 back thru Saturday? Please. He is a career front runner, with very few come from behind victories. And it is noted that a big reason he has so few come-from-behind wins is that he so often simply lapped the field when he had his A game. I think with the young talent on the PGA now, Tiger will have very few chances to ever lap the field again and that goes double when you are talking about Majors. He will have to scratch, claw and putt his way to Jacks record and it will require him to win a Major at age 47 to do it. I personally don't think he'll get there. He just too used to playing with House Money, not having to scrap his way to wins.

Funny how Elling piled on Tiger with the best of them when Tiger had his marriage/slut issues. Now, he's ONLY 4 back going into Sunday and Elling is writing about REDEMPTION? I understand how bad Tiger was immediately after the distractions, but he is not BACK just becuase he is in contention. Write this story when he goes into a Sunday UP by FOUR, not down by 4. I really enjoy Elling's work, but this is downright SILLY.
