We won against the Raptors. Any win is a good win when you are struggling and not playing well.
When the new system is fully installed and the players learn this new system so they could run it without really think about it we will probably struggle and have these periods when they would not be at their best.
I can see an improvement on their defense already, now it the scoring would kick in we would be in a better position.
“ONE MAN’S OPINION”
Talk about playing down to your level of competition. Toronto is a terrible basketball team. 34-19 after the 1st quarter and the Lakers just took their foot off the gas. If the Lakers HAD to win this game to say make the playoffs, they could have won by 40.
HOW CAN CBS MAKE GASOL PLAYER OF THE GAME WHEN KOBE HAD 27 AND THE GAME WINNER.
SORRY, NOT JUST A GAME WINNER, BUT THE 3 TO PULL LA WITHIN 1, THEN THE STEAL AND DISH TO ARTEST TO PUT THEM UP 1, AND THEN THE GAME WINNER FOLLOWING CALDERONS SHOT.
Bench M.World Peace and D.fisher and start Blake and D.Ebanks or M Barnes. Artest cant shoot this year and his defender is leaving him constantly in double teams with no fear of him making a shot thus killing the Lakers all by himself. Then we all know that D fisher who gives up a career game to opposing point guards on a regular basis needs to shit**** and support the team 10 minites a game,in the locker room and from the bench. Unless we can add a premier point guard start Blake. He is quick , can pass and when his legs are under him he can hit the open shot. Please don't go bring in another mediocre point guard to cuase more confusion at that position. Trust me with that lineup on a consistant basis night after night they will gel and be a contender. And the bench would consist of Fisher, Gouelock, World Peace, Murphy or McRoberts and rotate Gasol or Bynam in to have a 3-4 man rotation at the PF and Center. Then you post up your center or World Peace and you have guys that can hit the open jumper when and if he gets doubled. But a starting lineup of Blake,Bryant, Barns or Ebanks, Gasol and Bynam should be unstopable. We have the pieces I dont think we are using them correctly. One more comment I think if we had the opportunity to trade Bynam and someone else not named Bryant or Gasol for D. Howard and Hedo I would jump on it and truth be know it would benifit both teams but it needs to be done fast to give them time to gel. No one can offer a player of Bynam's worth in the NBA besides the Lakers and thats becuase there arn't many players of his value. Center and Point Guard are the two most important postions in basketball and he is a close 2nd to being the best center in basketball. No one can offer someone of that value unless Chicago gives up Rose, Thunder Durant, the Clips Griffin, ect. Young and talented is a hard combo to be able to present as trade bait.
Hahahaha where was the "clutch" Kobe during the game? He wouldnt have to be "clutch" if he didn't go 9-23 against the porous and horrible D of the Raptors. Gimme a break, they could have steamrolled the Raptors if Kobe wasnt such a f'in ballhog. The team shot 43%, despite Kobe going 9-23, so who really saved this game? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't 24.
First of all....it has to be difficult for Kobe and the Lakers (or any other team in the NBA for that matter) to have to get up for a game against the D-League Raptors. It is obvious that the NBA needs to contract. The first team that needs to go is the franchise in Canada that no superstar wants to play for. Look at that roster. I defy anyone to name more than two of their horrible players. I know..I know people will argue that Toronto makes money because people come to the games and spend their money....Newsflash...there is nothing else to do in Toronto in the winter. It still doesn't make it right that you have a franchise that will never be competitive. I don't see the free agent superstars lining up to go play basketball in Canada.
Bottom line...ho hum...another victory against the Raptors. Time to move on to the next opponent and thank God the Lakers don't have to travel north of the border again until next season.
There they are.....Richie and CrunchTime. Richie's comments remind me of something I hear out of the Tea Party so I just read through and laugh. But CruchTime is my man......always on Kobe no matter what. Crunch....you're one of my favorite posters but it's about time to go ahead and put Bryant on that pedestal: TOP TEN OF ALL TIME
Wrong Jericho...obviously you care about what I have to say or you wouldn't comment...I have no problem with Canada...actually love hockey and realize that it is definitely a Canadian sport..actually glad to see the Jets back in Winnipeg....still, the NBA doesn't belong in Toronto because that franchise will never compete....sorry if the tough love hurts your feelings, but it is the truth....nobody wants to sign long-term there.
