Kobe clutch, Lakers edge Raptors

But CruchTime is my man......always on Kobe no matter what. Crunch....you're one of my favorite posters but it's about time to go ahead and put Bryant on that pedestal: TOP TEN OF ALL TIME

I don't know what makes you tick but I'm going to tell you a little something about myself. I'm a realist and I merely state the facts. Kobe is a ball hog (another 9 for 23) and his teammates hate playing with him because he won't pass the ball when he's under intense pressure (only 2 assist in the past 2 games). You tell me who's coaching that team? I'll give you a hint. It's the ball hog. I'll tell you what.

How he can walk around without being embarrassed is beyond me!

Lifelong Laker fan since Van Exel and Eddie Jones and the current offense they are running is almost unwatchable.

Not sure how you know this.  I've never heard, although I don't pay much attention to wc bball, that a teammate doesn't like playing with Kobe.  In fact, I've heard the opposite.  As far as the intense pressure.....I think your reiterating Kobe's fan's points:  There's very few that want the ball in that situation and even fewer who are successful.  Not that he is all the time....I beilieve he's at 27% on game winning fg, Jordan was even less.

Fact is, the "guy who won't pass the ball" leads the team in assists. Kobe can pass the ball, he cant make his teammates take shots or, more importantly, make shots. Who do you really want taking shots --Kobe or World Peace or Fisher or Barnes or Blake? Last night even Gasol was below 50%. If the team is generally cold -- Kobe takes the shot.

"leads the team in assists" on the season, not last night obviously. Just clarifying before someone jumps on me.

@richyrichs -- 43.2% with Kobe, 44.8% without Kobe -- its not like the rest of the team was shooting lights out and, fact is, without Kobe they do not get as many good shots as no one is drawing double and triple teams. Fact is, on not a great night shooting, Kobe hit the big shots when he had to do so, shots no one else on the Lakers is even likely to get off, much less make. @pcyopick -- quite crying. What to blame someone, blame the idiot on the Raptors who can't count to 5 apparently and waited too long to try to call a time out. Hell, he even asked the ref to count out loud for him and still screwed it up.

As far as the intense pressure.....I think your reiterating Kobe's fan's points:  There's very few that want the ball in that situation and even fewer who are successful.

Kobe's had great clutch players around him throughout his entire career. Horry, Fisher, Shaq etc...There have been countless times that he's been double and triple teamed with his clutch teammates standing there wide open (with only a few seconds remaining) and yet Kobe jacks up the shot. That explains his poor shooting percentage for game winners. He's selfish because he wants the spotlight! That's why the teams from the 60s, 70s and 80s would destroy these teams today because they weren't selfish.

Vick'A_Coward....I think you're starting to see the light. I've always said these two were overrated.

Freaking 9 for 23???? I have no worries! The Lakers are going "nowhere"!

Look at what the winds blew in...the same Raptors squad that pummeled the Celtics on Friday!  Where pussypierce takes down 1 rebound, ONE.  Yep, those same Celtics that are being mentioned by delusional posters like Chenene and Crotch as winning the title this year.  It doesn't get any funnier than that.

We struggled but a W is a W and still we're a work in progress.  We've also played higher number of games on road vs. home so it will all equal itself out.  If you're the Celtics you haven't even tasted the west teams or the road.  Can't wait to report on those L's coming in Mar and Apr.

Crap argument, crunch. Shaq was just as much to blame there, and because I know you live in Kobe's azz I know you're aware of that.

Horry, Fisher, Shaq etc...There have been countless times that he's been double and triple teamed with his clutch teammates standing there wide open (with only a few seconds remaining) and yet Kobe jacks up the shot. That's why the teams from the 60s, 70s and 80s would destroy these teams today because they weren't selfish.

Damn your arguments are weak, crunch. So let's see-Kobe has had players like Horry and Fish, who HAVE hit many clutch shots in the playoffs-but Kobe is selfish so they never got their chance to shoot? Wait, you said he was selfish-so if that's true how did they get their chance to shoot in the clutch? Did they physically wrestle the ball out of his hands? Were Horry and Fisher playing defense against a player wearing the same uniform? This is news to all of us, smart guy.

And Shaq? A clutch player? Shaq was hardly ever in the game at the end because of his horrible free throw shooting and inability to shoot from range. What the fk are you talking about crunch? Do YOU even know? Is this just stream of consciousness writing, just throwing s hit against the wall to see what sticks?

And for the record, I WANT a player on my team that wants the spotlight and can back it up. To many players spray their shorts in that situation, so I'll take the player with ice-water in his veins any day of the week.

crunch, I never thought I'd say this but your takes are actually getting worse. Stick to what you know, because your biased hater-takes on Kobe are weak and easy to take apart.

I'm not a psychiatrist but Crunch's posts have all the makings of a soured Celtics fan who has to vent at his most hated enemy - the Lakers/Kobe.  He knows that green ship sailed back in '09 after the big 3 met up to take one lone title so he spews the venom in this direction.

Very predictable of you Crunch.  Be a little bit more imaginative and factual with your posts.

No need to try and figure me out. I'll state my case clearly. I'm a soured Celtics fan! Yeah we're pathetic and that's a bit of a dagger but I still have that glowing feeling of happiness knowing the Lakers are headed for the cellar! What makes it extra special is Kobe leading the way. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I hate the Lakers with a passion!

If KG didn't get hurt we would've won the title on 09. If Perkins hadn't missed game 7, we 3 peat in 2010.

Here's some imagination that will come true. Kobe has never won without Phil Jackson & he never will. Their future is doomed because Kobe is fading and to make matters worse, he could never co-exist with another superstar coming in to steal the spotlight from him. Nobody in LA knows how to bring out Bynum's potential. The Lakers parted ways with the best 6th man in the league. Their management has the ability to draw a few superstars but they cannot put together a decent bench! They've needed a PG for years but did nothing to find one. On top of that, the players are unhappy with the coach. Now they're quickly headed for the cellar.

Let's throw a pity party for the pretty boys in purple haha!

When is all said and done, Lakers will be looking down at their opponents in conference unlike Celtics.  Kobe will lead the way and when Bynum and Gasol decide to contribute more than they have along with the bench, you'll see a winning team.  But, wait, they're already 16-12 even having played more road games than home games.  Guess we can do better.

you make it too easy, Crunch Bob.  Nobody can rival what Kobe has done in today's current state when it comes to rings.  Pretty soon there'll be a revolt vs. Brown and the organization by the players.  There will be picketers outside Staples demanding team play up to their potential.  It's doom I tell you, doomsday for the Lakers as told by Crunch Bob.

While your head is spinning out of control and reality will soon hit your head as two teams headed in opposite directions.  The hapless and over-the-hill-gang will continue to baffle their fan base with rare wins over a .500 team and losses to the likes of the Raptors.
