You mean he hasn't been murdered by Ray yet (insert Ben rape joke here by a Ravens fan that can't take a joke)?. And btw Cundiff is an all-pro kicker with great range. The Ravens would be foolish to cut him, just like how Gary Anderson missed the biggest kick of his life doesn;t change he was a great kicker for a long time.

Can we just stop feeling sorry for kickers? Right now? They are not football players. They are soccer players--at best--who do not play football, period. They have one job to do, and the easiest and most important is to make short field goals when the actual football players bust their asses to put them in position to do so. The honorable thing for Cundoff to do after blowing that chip shot--to the extent there is anything honorable about being a kicker who pretends to be a football player--would be to climb up a few stories of a tall building and jump off. Barring the gonads**** to do that, he should just shut the f*ck up and thank his lucky stars that football players like Ray Lewis didn't chew him up and spit him out.

I have one job to do, and it's the easiest job in the world unlike actual football players, who bust their asses, including kickers. No. Missed kicks don't happen all the time. Not in pro football. And giving your best is not good enough. You simply don't miss a trip to the super bowl on a 32 yard chip shot. It doesn't happen. If he were to be put in the same spot next year, do you go with Cundiff ? I suggest he is permanently frozen now. You don't even need to waste a time out. In fact I wouldn't even call one in that situation just to replicate the Patriot game. For the post season they won't go with Cundiff. Get someone from the CFL if you have to, been done before. This is a non issue. Done. Cundiff is done for post season duties.

I think they tell him this, but don't be surprised if they upgrade. Just saying that might be the closest the Ravens get with their aging defense. To be honest, the Giants own the Patriots in the SB. However, the Ravens beat them early last decade. We could've easily had a couple rematches. Yeah I know the Ravens didn't face Eli Manning and it was Kerry Collins, but by the same token the Ravens defense blew out the Giants and this game match up is a better Ravens defense than what the Patriots brought.

Hw about some support for the coach who didn't call a timeout before the kick was made? That would fall into Harbaugh's lap, wouldn't it? Cundiff missed the kick outright, but I still cannot believe that time was not called on the play to ensure that things were set right.

steelers=sb is correct in saying it would be foolish to cut Cundiff. He missed one field goal, life goes on. Cundiff has a howitzer of a leg and not only can hit the long field goal but consistently bury kickoffs out of the end zone. This is a good thing because the Raven kick coverage units were among the NFL's worst. And kudos to his teammates for sticking by him- this what being a TEAM is about.
