Would like to have seen one of those byes in nearly November instead.
I also dislike the bye week schedule. Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky. But two bye weeks in September? Really?????Kind of foolish, isn't it? Maybe there will be some revamping and a game will be moved so another bye week can take place in November, when it can do some real good. The schedule Gods have not been kind to OU....again. I mean, OU has to go on the road to play both of the newcomers in the league? That really is ass backwards. And in the last 3 weeks OU gets TCU, OSU and WVU in succession? Unreal.
Come on guys, you always talk about how the Sooners don't back away from competition like the SEC powderpuffs.... Well this schedule is going to take the Sooners to the NCG even if they lose one game on the way. If the Sooners are a top contender they should be able to handle it. Last year they couldn't and weren't...
Maybe they could schedule in extra game with some team that is worthy and also in need of tougher scheduling. Not sure what the limit is on games. But my take is, bring on the 2012 season/schedule, the Sooners will be ready....

Not an easy road. But, it is what it is.
