FAAB v.s. First Come CBS Roto

February 15, 2012 6:37 am

So can anyone attest to which is better for CBS roto baseball?

I have some owners in my commissioner league wanting to try FAAB but we are so used to first come first serve.

I think it may make baseball even more enjoyable becasue you will not have to sit by the PC or mobile device all the time to snag that player, you would just calmly place a bid.

How often should the FAAB run if we choose to do it?

to me the biggest drawback in FAAB  is when you get news that a player is going to miss some time either that day or all week and you aren't able to pick up a player to replace him. Even if it is a weekly league and you are looking just at Mondays before the first game of the day, you are stuck with just the players on your roster to start that week. Another drawback is if you don't get the player you bid on,you either have to have a bid on a lesser player as a backup or do without till the next bidding. The most common bids are daily, weekly and twice a week. FAAB does eliminate the rush to the computer to pick up the guy who just got handed a starting job, but it does have its limitations too.
