For those of you who did not see this interview with Steven, its good. He seems like such a likeable guy, and I really cannot wait to see him on the court.

I have been wondering just how goos this guy is??? Everything I see says he is a real big deal. Some of the film bits I have seen are quite impressive. Until recently, he was always listed as one of the 'other' good recuits without a ranking. In the past few days, two recruiting sites now have him ranked as the #4 and the #6 prospect in the coumtry. He is clearly the reason Pitt's recruiting class is top 15. He should start right away. And hopefully he stays more than one year.

About Steve Adams...he appears on many of the 2013 mock drafts so many have him as a one and done. So smoke 'em for as long as you have 'em. Pitt stills needs a big man. Man I hope Gilbert comes through. he's aggressive and cares like McGhee. Thanks for the info on Adams kiss-that is a terrific article, right you are.

Good stuff from the website stuff.co.nz:

"The fact that Adams has played so little in the US - he only linked with
Notre Dame Prep for the second half of the high school season after moving from
New Zealand in January - has many predicting a big upside for the Kiwi.

Adams averaged 12 points and 14 rebounds for Notre Dame Prep with his most
spectacular performance coming when he went for 23 points and 13 rebounds in a
matchup against Tilton School's Nerlens Noel who is ranked ESPN's top college
recruit for 2012. Adams kept Noel to 14 points and seven boards."

Looking forward to Steven Adams in a Panthers uniform.

How tall is he now? I read he was 6-10 a couple of years ago, and they projected that he would be a 7 footer.

How big is Seeven Adams?

Depends where you read ... anywhere from 6'-10" to 7'-1"

He's big enough. And everyone says he's got huge, soft hands and he runs like a gazelle.

I've never seen him play .... but I can't wait till the season starts.

If this artcle is foretelling the future, I think Steven Adams may be a Panther for more than one year. As some of you know, the NBA has him as a #5 pick in the Spring of 2013, but apparently Adams wants an NCAA championship ring and says the NBA can wait!

I like hearing that, but we'll have to see what really happens. Dixon will need to surrond this guy with a little more talent .... and I am not sure we have all the horses right now. Of course, we don't know exactly how good Adams is yet. All remains to be seen.....

Got to be better than some of the players last year! If he's not better than Dante Taylor, it will be another wreck of a season. If thats so, then everybody is misjudging his talent. And I would find that hard to believe.

It probably will be a good thing for Pitt in a couple of ways if Adams does leave. That likely will mean he lit it up down the stretch and carried Pitt a long way in the NCAA tournament. It also will send a strong message to other potential top recruits. We might not be Kentucky, but if you come to Pitt and you're good enough, we'll get you to the NBA quickly.

From the Post Gazette

Personally, I don't think Steve Adams is ready for the NBA yet. He is an assett to the Pantehers, but not
yet ready to be a prime time player. If he lives up to his word of not wanting to leave before an NCAA
championship, I am not wrried about a step to the NBA after this year. Pitt as a team is doing well
statistically with the exception of free throws and sometimes rebounds and turnovers. A little more
development at all positions should put them in a better spot next year.

Adams is faaaaar from ready for the NBA. He's not dominant with all of his skills in college. He will still have alot of things to work on after this year is over, no question about it. He's not bad at blocking shots and he's learning how to score better than at the beginning of the season. But he still needs work on his scoring, passing, and when and when not to put the ball on the floor. The New Zealand League he came from was not very good according to JD. Adams didn't face teams like he does now in the Big East every game. He could probably put on a little more weight so he doesn't get shoved around by thicker players also.

If he lives up to his word of not wanting to leave before an NCAA championship, I am not wrried about a step to the NBA after this year.
He may be at Pitt for 4 years then.....
How does a GREAT team like Arizona get beat by a lowly and never ranked California team?Wink haha

The competition level Adams faced here in New Zealand was poor, simple as that. He hadn't really seen anyone with genuine size until he left the country, there simply was not enough bigs around for him to match up against. Hearing that he was heading to a quality program in Pitt was music to my ears, this kid comes from an impressive sporting pedigree, New Zealand wishes him well.

I'd definetely take his word when he says he ain't leaving. He's a humble kid, his double Olympic Champion Sister is seen as a goddess over here, not just due to her sporting achievements, but because she's one of the most trustworthy figures we have. If Adams is half as honest as his sister, he'll be a while away from the NBA.

When the time does come, I can finally stop hanging my hat on Sean Marks being our greatest basketball export. With all due to respect to him!
