Totally agree! Leadership is a HUGE glaring problem on this team right now.   

<p>Huge is an understatement.  The middle LB from Houston was suppose to be that guy but I have yet to see him step up and take control of the lockerroom.  These young players are playing for their contracts not for the team or this city.  Someone made an excellent point about the Eagles getting leadership through the draft and NOT free agency and I actually agree with that.  But who is going to evaluate something the Eagles never really cared about before?  Look at how they handled Brian Dawkins and they are still looking for his replacement.  If Ray Lewis was on this team he would have been cut 2 seasons ago, but that's the difference between the Ravens and the Eagles.  The Ravens value leadership and the Eagles do not....and now they are paying the price for their ignorance and unfortunately the fans are paying for it too.  </p>

I agree with getting leadership through the draft. Sometimes free agents work though (Runyan, Hugh Douglas, Troy Vincent to name a few), but you NEED guys who came up through this team like BDawk, Tra and Trott did.


Look at the Phillies...their leaders are guys like Rollins, Utley, Howard, and Hamels -- guys that came up through their system!  

So true.  That is the job at hand for the Eagles front office.  Get some players in the draft who are talented AND have leadership qualities because the Eagles have talented players in LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Brett Celek but they are not leaders and no one's going to follow those guys because they don't have that mental toughness or edgey attitude.  When guys like Runyan, Tra, Trotter, Dawkins or Hugh spoke others listened like they were E.F. Hutton (remember those old commericals?) but when guys like McCoy and Jason Avant speak the young players are looking at their watches and wondering can they go now.  That is the sad state of the Eagles lockerroom right now.  <br />

Tell me about. What a coward. Going to the worst team in the NFL and one of the most pathetic and sorry franchises over the last 15 years. I mean, they've won soooo many playoff games since 1994. I mean ZERO playoff wins in nearly the last 2 decades is just great.

FYI, the Eagles franchise wasn't much different than what the Chiefs are now when Reid took over. Yet now it's SB or bust every year here. I wonder what changed since 1999.

I'll tell you what happened in 1999, Lurie hired Andy Reid who more importantly hired Jim Johnson. In KC Reid will do what he does best...make a crappy team "competitive", nothing more nothing less. Just don't ask him to get a winning record against playoff contenders because that's not on his resume.

I second that.  To this day, I can't believe how duped we weer on that analyses.  Truth be told, I'm sure most of us were.

Man it's very good to hear from you again.  I hope we grab some more of our disgusted regular posters now that change is coming for our Eagles.  And I'll admit--I never heard of Reggie Wayne OR FredEx when they were in college.  How has Freddie Mitchell's acting career worked out?  Does ANYONE know?  I'd guess less than his pro football career.  (But, you know----that 4th and 26 is actually still in my ALL-Time Top10).  I have a hardcore Packers fan in my extended family.  And I guarantee--he will NEVER get over that one.

Pinkston and Thrash are probably losers these days also.

Todd Stinkston and James Trash are high on my list too and the whereabouts of Reggie Clown as well.  I last saw Stinkston as an assistant coach in training under Andy Reid and was probably as successful as his playing career.  Reggie Clown played in Cleveland and last I heard he tried out for the Vikings before Brad Childress was fired, wait maybe that's why he was fired LOL!  I don't know the whereabouts of one James Trash, I think he had a job with another for a very short period of time before he was dropped and I do mean very short period of time.  I wonder if Doug Peterson will now pack up and move to KC and continue his job for life under Andy Reid or will Reid do the laughable and call up Donovan McNabb to QB the team until his replacement is drafted, similar to what Peterson did back in 1999.  After throwing for only 39 yards in a game for the Vikings even a strong supporter like myself had to come to fact that McNabb was done in this league.   <br /> 

Hey CentralMass, I see both of your post.  Did you make a third one that disappeared into the CBS black hole?  And yes I'm having issues posting here.  I can't type in bold/italics anymore because it doesn't recognize it and fills my comments with computer jargon and regular print, so I just post in regular type face and make no spaces to avoid computer jargon between paragraph.  This BS only happens on CBS but the wonderful folks who operate this site refuse to admit they made changes that's effecting how some of us post on here.  It's my browser is always their response when I complain to them about this.  You got to love a company who doesn't take responsibility for anything.  They make all kind of changes on this sites and when it effects some users ability to post it's always, "It's not us it's your browser".  No wonder why some call this place SeeBS.   <br />
