Notre Dame Wish List are Eddie Vanderdoes(SN says he picks UCLA); Kylie Fitts(SN says UCLA) and Dean Hollins(ditto UCLA) so if SN is right which is a tossup the Irish could all lose all 3 to the Bruins. I would be happy if they got 1 of these guys. So far ND has done well in recruiting but I dont take anything for granted until they sign on the dotted line. They had several decommits last season ON signing day. Rivals has the Irish No. 2 as of now and I think Scout has them at No. 3. Not bad at all.

Letter of Intent Day THREAD....

I'm pleased with USC's class so far:

Early enrollee's already attending class:

Su' a Cravens - DB - 5 star
Darreus Burgess - WR - 4 star
Kenny Bigelow - DL - 5 star
Max Browne - QB - 5 star
Justin Davis - RB - 4 star
Chris Hawkins - DB - 4 star
Leon McQuay III - DB - 5 star

These are the verbal commitments that I know of (I think there are a couple more):

Ty Isaac - RB - 5 star
Jalen Ramsey - DB - 5 star
Nico Falah - OL - 4 star
Jason Hatcher - DE - 4 star
Michael Hutchings - LB - 4 star
Steven Mitchell - WR - 4 star
Torrodney Prevot - DE - 4 star
Khaliel Rodgers - OL - 4star

Hey, Trojan, with this line-up, if USC doesn't get it together next year, Kiffin will likely be out.

I agree. I think he needs a minimum of 9 wins and no more stupid parlor trick crap like underinflating footballs and switching jerseys, otherwise he'll be gone!!

I've caught alot of grief on these boards for defending him (even from a couple of fellow Trojans. LOL!!). So the bastard better not let me down or I'm driving out there and firing him myself!!Tongue out

Letter of Intent Day THREAD....

Dawgs:

We are #10 at Rival, #9 at ESPN, #8 at Scout. Pretty consistent.

Currently class of 29, should be more likely around 32-35 when done (we already have enrolled 13 members of the class of 2013, most of whom are credited back to the class of 2012).

We could stay where we are, drop just a bit, or go way up.

We are still in the hunt for:

Running back Alvin Kamara (Bama) - 66
Defensive lineman Montravius Adams (Clemson) - 10
Offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil (Bama) - 3
Linebacker Reuben Foster (Auburn) - 15
Defensive Tackle Toby Johnson (Auburn) - 8 (JUCO)

I think we will land Kamara (better chance to play at UGa than Bama, even though he has a lot of competition either way), Adams (SEC over ACC), Johnson (has UGa as his leader) and Tunsil. I don't think we will land Foster (he has an Auburn tatoo on his arm for goodness sake). I also think we will lose one of our committs that will flip on signing day ... it just seems to happen.

If we add 3 or 4 of those 5, we will move up several slots, to say around 5-6. If we land all 5, we'll jump into the top 3. If we lose all 5, we will drop to around 12. If we sign one or two, we stay where we are.

It's kind of nice to be in the running for this much undecided talent, and leading with several. It's going to be a fun day next week.

A name I'll be watching is Joshua Dobbs, one of the top qb's from the south. He's also a big time baseball prospect. Originally he was an Arizona St commit, now listed as a soft commit. Earlier today I found out he was accepted to Stanford. He is also considering Clemson and Tenn. He has a big time arm but is a little bit fraile at only 190 lbs on a 6'3" frame. His last HS game 405yds passing and 5 td's. Did I mentioin he has a big time arm! He'll probably redshirt his 1st yr and attend school on a baseball scholarship. Hopefully he'll choose Stanford as we have both good football and baseball programs.

Letter of Intent Day THREAD....

The Ducks are about to lose 4 of their best recruits.

4-star RB Dontre Wilson = gonzo!!!  He's jumping ship to Ohio State.
4-star WR Darren Carrington = gonzo!!  He's jumping ship to Arizona State.
4-star athlete Tyree Robinson = gonzo!!
4-star athlete Tyrell Robinson = gonzo!!  They are both jumping ship to Washington

You might think I am speculating. Nope. I know for a fact that is where all of them will end up. And you will too on Febrary 6th.

The Ducks will drop out of the Top 25 of every single conceivable recruiting class ranking once these 4 players leave. The reason is because there is ZERO chance of replacing these guys with any new 4 or 5 star recruits. I think it's 2 or 3 star recruits from now on for the Ducks!!
Shoktart is like the tabloids for the Ducks! Nothing true about it, but boy is it negative and raunchy.

If anyone is flipping away from Oregon it's Dontre. But the good news there for the Ducks, is he has remained very committed all season long. Chip Kelly leaving shook that up a little obviously. But seeing how he's been described as a faster Kenjon Barner, the system fits him nicely and I don't think he goes anywhere. Will it be a loss if he does go elsewhere? Of course. But Oregon isn't losing possibly the best running back in the this senior clan, Thomas Tyner. Tyree flat out loves Oregon. They aren't splitting up and Tyree won't be leaving Eugene. Therefore Tyrell will follow. Carrington just scrapped his visit with OSU http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncf
recruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=32120. He isn't going anywhere. On the flip side... Cameron Hunt and Johnny Ragin III, both 4* Cal Verbals, will sign with Oregon. And even if those guys decommit, let's all remember that these rankings are not accurate and don't ensure success. Rather the most important thing in Football is good coaching. Oregon built itself since 2007 under Chip Kelly with mostly 3 star recruits and will continue to be just fine in the long run with whoever they sign. I think I speak for everyone when I say, "Go F*** yourself San Diego!" and by San Diego I mean Shoktart.

Lane Kiffin kind of reminds me of Rich Rodriguez: Coaching ability looks good on paper, but the proof is in the pudding.  And, if you think of it this way, where's Kiffin's proof?  That's what he needs to show this next season.  As a Michigan fan, I tried to keep an open mind about Rodriguez, too, but we all know how that experiment turned out.  Good luck to your Trojans!

Big difference....  RichRod has proven that he can win.

But if I were a Michigan fan I would be saying the same thing UMGrad.  Just wasnt a good fit with UM.

That said.... Michigan getting Green is perfect for Hoke's version of the Wolverines.

I dont know about it to be sure, but from the surface Scout appears to assess by quantity as much as by quality.  Not saying that their service sucks, just that there are other ones you can go by, such as Rivals.

just an interesting breakdown of Texas's Fab 55 (top 55 recruits)

Baylor grabs the #1 recruit in Texas. That has to be a first.

Only 2 uncommitted

7 currently going to the Pac 10

16 goiong to the SEC (14 for A&M). Little surprised at the number. It is a down yr, but surprised LSU did not grab there normal share. Bama and Mizzu took 1 apiece.

Nebraska only gets 1

Lane Kiffin kind of reminds me of Rich Rodriguez: Coaching ability looks good on paper, but the proof is in the pudding.  And, if you think of it this way, where's Kiffin's proof?

Where's his proof? Well, in his first season at USC, which also happened to be the 1st season of the sanctions that were supposed to cripple the program, he guided them to an 8-5 record. Not spectacular by any stretch, but also better than most anticpiated. In his 2nd season, USC finished 10-2 with a win over Oregon at Autzen Stadium. Last season, the season got away from him and everyone else and he certainly didn't himself with some of the other nonsense that went on (most of which was overblown crap because it's Kiffin and USC). His record for his 1st 3 years is 25-13. Not up to USC standards, but considering the sanctions and some key injuries, not too bad either.

At this point, given the small sample size, I'd say that there is more evidence that he can coach than there is that he can't!!

As a Michigan fan, I tried to keep an open mind about Rodriguez, too, but we all know how that experiment turned out.

RichRod's biggest problem at Michigan was that he was trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. He was trying to use his spread type offense with a team that wasn't built that way. If he had been willing to change his style of offense until he was able to recruit the kinds of players that he needs for his system, he would have been fine, imo.

Good luck to your Trojans!

Same to your Wolverines!! Maybe our teams can sweep the Domers next season!!Wink

TJ12,

As good as the recruit list looks this year, it always looks like that!  The Trojans are underperforming giving the talent that USC has.  Kiffen is a bust as evidenced by USC thinking 9 wins will save his job.  Heck, a 9 win season should cost you your job at USC with 75 blue chippers at all times.

It took a KIFFIN sized effort to lose 6 games last year with all that offensive talent.  And, the Sun Bowl????? What was that punking that 7 loss GT layed down?  I would stop defending Kiffin until he actually did something.......1 win over Oregon where they missed a field goal at the end doesn't even register as average at USC.....or, it didn't used to.
