My attempt at a Big 12 1st Team about halfway though the conference skid. My first attempt was during the OkSt. game which was a bit too wire-to-wire to allow divergent thought process, I now realize.
G - Pierre Jakkson Baylor 18.8 Ppg & 6 Ast
G - Ben McLemore Kansas 16.1 Ppg & 5 Rebs w/50.7% FG Shooting Clip
G - Will Clyburn Iowa St. 14.4 Ppg & 7.5 Reb (From a Guard, a 6'7" one, but this is impressive to me and gives him the nod over McGruder)
F - Isaiah Austin Baylor 14.8 Ppg & 9.4 Rebs
C - Jeff Withey Kansas 13.1 Ppg & 4.3 Blk(Will win DPOY as well!)
McGruder, Smart, Releford, Jaye Crokket, Romero Osby and Cory Jefferson get 2nd Team Nods IMO...2cents?
Pretty solid, don't remember Clyburn doing too much against us so when I saw his name was shocked but his numbers look good. It's between him and Mcgruber for the last spot the other 4 have prettym uch made there case and barring injury should have a pretty tight grip on those spots.
Preciate the feedbakk, it just seems like we stress ourselves out only talking starting lineups, and ineffective play from ______(insert flavor of the season). Just a different direction slightly...to focus a little on who has been playing well in the conference and to the extension...our team.
Clyburn's Rebs. numbers surprised me greatly...only a couple weeks ago Withey was averaging the same clip, so that speaks volumes as to the work he's doing on the glass. Several of the top scorers are bunched at 14ppg with only 2 or 3 above 15, so it's debatable.
I'd put Ejim in ahead of Clyburn- you need to look at the whole game and not just the stats. Clyburn had some great games and amazing plays, but how can you leave the leading rebounder in the conference off the top 2 team list ?
