<p>The SEC is the birthplace of recruiting absurdity. Campus recruiting hostesses became a thing here. Private planes, elaborate visits, $100 handshakes … so much of what we think of as the model for major-college sports recruiting is rooted in the SEC.</p>

Stoops did you see the ESPN 30 for 30 on the SMU scandal? Wasn't there some 10 schools in the SW Conference on probation for paying players in the 80's? I agree they are probably paying players in the SEC but you are kidding yourself if you think this is the only place that is going on.
