Who's your all time favorite player?

February 14, 2013 2:09 pm

If I remember correctly, playing both baseball and football worn down his hip joints to where he couldn't do it anymore.
Maybe part of it, but as I remember correctly he was plastered along the sideline and literally had his hip knocked out of the socket.  Never played again, that is contact sports.   He's quite the gin player I am told
It was neither of these...  He was simply "tackled" in a playoff game vs Cincinnati and the poor guy hanging on to his leg pulled his hip completely out of socket with the tackle...

"Plastered"???  Lol, I love how stories get exaggerated.

Ahman Green with James Lofton a close second. I've got to go with a player that I've seen play so that leaves out anyone prior to the early 70'sand I have to go with my favorite team.  As for non Packers there are two, Walter Payton and Larry Csonka.

Walter Payton.

He could run through you, over you, under you, or around you.  He could break your jaw with a stiffarm or juke you out of your jockstrap.  He could catch the long ball, the screen pass, catch one-handed, or two-handed. He could throw a 60 yard laser, he could throw a 20 yard touch pass over a defender.  He could block and he could tackle.  He was even the Bears' emergency punter for Christ's sake...

Simply the greatest all around football player ever to live.

Lawrence Taylor, even though he is a deplorable human being, and played for the team I hate the most... There just wasn't anything that anyone could do about him.. Honorable mention to Lott..

Bruce Smith of the Bills!

Reggie White was outstanding, but I honestly felt Bruce was a little better. I saw him lined up at LE and went after the ball-carrier on the far right-side of the field. On his way there, he fought off 5 would-be blockers and nailed the RB for only a 3 or 4-yard gain. At the end of the play, Dan Dierdorf was going crazy in the booth. He couldn't believe what he just saw; neither did I.

Not only was Bo Jackson an extremely talented NFL running back, but he was also a tremendous multi-tool baseball player who played a mean CF, was a demon on the basepaths and had power to boot.  That is also correct about his injury, he did nothing more than get tackled and when it happened you could see the leg shift upward into his hip.  The ball and socket was destroyed.  Never played football again,  but did make a little baseball comeback with the White Sox where he homered on opening day.  It was pretty cool.
