Horse I just went thru this with a bama fan last nite about Sabans daughters misunderstanding!
Andy do you even know what day is it? Because know nothing of yesterdays debate...no one said anything about Kristen Saban being a misunderstanding...we said she was not relevant to the debate...which she wasn't...debating coaching is not the same as debating parenting. Please learn the difference between the simple concepts before running your trap in other threads...trying to make it out like the Alabama Fan was wrong.

They weren't very good so saban set them up because he wants their schollys back

Sounds like gray shirts, isnt that what they call it in the SEC and ohio??
Dont feel bad for these guys just yet...I am sure after they are released from Alabama, LSU will pick them up.

Friggin dumb ass, selfish, thug as bitches.
gb I agree with you. They should be removed from the team. Williams will be for sure because more than likely he will see jail time. A buddy of mine was put away for 5 years for similar circumstances.

Two key ideas:

1. These kids are 2nd stringers.  So they'll get the book thrown at them.  Had they been starters, Saban would be pleading for mercy, patience and understanding.  As is, he's probably celebrating.  He now gets 4 extra scholarships.

2. They can be excused for assaulting students half their size.  After all, that's what Bama does when they set up their non-conference schedule.

Williams later used the victim's student identification to buy snacks from a vending machine in a dorm room.

You have Saban confused with Urban Meyer.

Come on bandwagon you and the rest of the free world had no problem railing on Notre Dame for problems they had at the school and now that its Alabama all bets are off. And to top it off you have to end it with a classless remark. Smooth.

Being on scholarship and playing at a major university is a priviledge, not a right. I hope they kick them out of school, to say nothing of off the team. I'd rather lose without them than win with players like that.

I'll just say this: I'm not quite sure how people can immediately jump on a articular school or program when it seems that EVERY school has had issues happen now. A coach cannot control every friggin aspect of these guys' lives. If it happens over and over, that's one thing, but can we really expect Saban to know these morons would go do this? (Yes, I just took up for Satan. Cyanide please...)

And before you morons start shouting, I didn't jump on the tattoo thing either. Once Tressel admitted to covering it up, that was a different thing.

smiles_id,

You have to be kidding that Saban would fight to keep them as players if they were 1st stringers.

If all this is true these guys need to be kicked off the team and prosecuted.

Im curios as to who posted their bail. Two of them had 60 thousand and 65 thousand bonds. That means you have to put up at least six thousand for the bond. Most people dont put up houses and cars for this kind of stuff.

I am all for getting great players at your school, but I'm thinking there are so many more honorable kids that would have loved to play for Saban at Bama who were passed up for these thugs.  Makes you think maybe winning isn't everything ?!?!?

Perhaps giving a scholly to more deserving kids who will respect the school giving them a free education should be promoted over some kid who can run like the cops are chasing him because he stole something !

Hmmm how about these names:
Jordan Jefferson
Tyrann Mathieu
Spencer Ware
Tharold Simon
Brad Wing
  Ryan Perrilloux

As has been stated elsewhere...any program will get its share of good and bad kids that they recruited. Hell, my school had Lawrence Phillips!!!This isnt about recruiting kids with questionable lifestyles just for the sake of winning. Remember, these are kids. Some of them probably did some pretty stupid things in high school. That doesnt mean they dont have the right to be recruited and go on to have a productive college football career and a chance to earn their degree. Does that always happen? No. This is one of those times it didnt work out.

I'd be surprised if the university doesn't expell them.  Attacking and beating up and then robbing other students is not good PR for the university.

I think you mistook my comments.  I agree maybe more honorable kids were overlooked in favor of the players you pointed out above.  I've actually said this same thing when the trouble those players got in was made public.   I know a bunch of folks whose kids were stand outs on their local teams here in Baton Rouge that didn't get recruited.  Then I see these thugs who were, some from far away states, doing silly things like this.   Like I said, maybe winning isn't everything.  Maybe helping young men become better through a free education and competitive exposure in football games should be enough.  If we win the conference, bowl game or a championship so much the better.

You know for the better part of several years, i have played the nice guy that rarely makes a comment such as i did today. I am usually the level-headed guy that thinks about his comments. I am also always in defense of my team and My teams coach, which is what i did today, just in a different form than usual. Sorry if it offended you to use the stereotype of the catholics, much as the catholics usedthe dumb southerner on us before the game(catholics versus cousins), but thats going to be more my style from now on. Saban is an asshole****...no doubt, but he is a disciplined coach who demands such and is also a man among boys in the college coaching game. I am from this moment on not going to be the kid-gloves guy when defending my team or my coach, so if it offends you all i can offer you is a tissue. Dont like the way i defend my coach or my team, then warn your brethren to respect what they could not hope to deffeat on their best day. Classless goes both ways and i only used the same tactics back that were delivered in spades during the buildup to the game.

No, do you need the tissue or are you good?
