So it's on here at the office.  And usually I like the show.  Sure they fall into the cliche stuff from time to time but so does everyone.  But today's show is awful.  The whole thing has been about comparing Lebron to Jordan.  That's it.  How this is even a discussion, cause Lebron is no where near Jordan and not even on Kobe's level, is beyond me.

A whiny Jets fan and a big fat ex-TE.  Not much different.  Kinda like "King of Queens".

No, a LeBron vs. Jordan discussion is patently ridiculous, but remember that LeBron has tried many times to pump himself up into god-status.  With so many people not having seen Jordan play (for the Bulls at least), they have difficulty imagining someone as "good" as LeBron.
I can remember watching Joe Montana and Barry Sanders play in the NFL, so I can reject the ridiculous notion that guys like Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson are better.

not even on Kobe's level
Playing with HOF big men and being coached by Phil Jackson >>>>>>  Playing with Antuan Jamison/Anderson Varejao/Larry Hughes and being coached by Mike Brown...

Lebron is a better all around player and athlete than Kobe ever was...

Agree about Brady, but you don't think Peterson would have been just as successful during the Barry Sanders era?

He's in his third year of playing with those guys...I'm referring to his time in Cleveland, you know, a situation that Kobe would have gotten himself out of as quick as crack...Lebron led those scrubs to the Finals...

Also, Kobe never got to a Finals and just totally dissapeared.  He also didn't give up against teams in the playoffs.  Lebron did.

TheBron was able to lead those teams because he's white.

No.  Perhaps Peterson would've been as good as Ernest Byner or perhaps Terry Allen, but he doesn't possess the raw talent and elusiveness that Sanders did IMO.

Sanders played for a crap team his entire career, with mediocre blocking, and never a potent passing game.  Defenses knew he was 98% of the offense and still couldn't bring him down.  Watching video of Sanders today still makes me shiver.  But hearing about how people think Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson are as good as Walter Payton or Barry Sanders makes me retch.

You mean like those god awful Lakers teams from the mid-2000s?  Kobe has never left a team to run to an established superstar's team.  Lebrob did

comparing Lebron to Jordan

Did you see the way he put the ball in the hoop?  WOW!  He puts the ball in the hoop better than the other guy puts the ball in the hoop.  If basketball is not the most boring and retarded sport on the planet, I don't know what it.

Very true..Has nothing to do with him being the better player though...

He just about gave up on his team when he was asking to be traded when they didn't make the playoffs before they got Gasol from Memphis..

Repaeting falsehoods does not make them true.  He may not have ever been on great teams, but crap teams?  No.  And let's not forget how he disappeared in the playoffs.  Or how he had to be taken out of goal line situations since he was just as likely to lose yards as he was to gain them.  And let's not forget how he quit on his team right before the start of the season.  Barry Sanders isn't even in the top 5 RBs of all time.

THIS!

Ernest Byner or Terry Allen? Stop!

Sanders played for a crap team his entire career,

Wrong, Sanders' teams made the playoffs almost half the time.

with mediocre blocking

Wrong, they had a couple Pro Bowlers and it's hard to shine when your RB fails to hit the holes.

and never a potent passing game.

Wrong, again. Scott Mitchel while not a great Qb did have a couple big years with Herman Moore.

You've obviously bought into the Barry Sanders legend but there are a bunch of RB's I'd want for my team before I'd take Sanders. His style of running, while fun to watch, wasn't conducive to winning football. It was like passing all the time.

yes it does.  Greatness of a player has more to do with talent alone.  If that were the only deciding factor, MJ would not be at the top of the mountain.  It is talent, intangibles, and what you do.  Kobe has so far out distanced himself from Lebron.  Can Lebron catch up?  Sure, but he's not on his level yet.

He just about gave up on his team when he was asking to be traded when they didn't make the playoffs before they got Gasol from Memphis..
So, almost leaving a terrible team is some how better than leaving a team that had had a lot of playoff success and the best record two years in a row?
